There have been so many reports of rampant bed bugs in motels everywhere, I have contemplated taking a new shower curtain on my trips and wrapping myself in it before getting on (not in) the bed.

Rented a rustic cabin once that was alive with rustic black widow spiders.  Went to town and bought 5 bug bombs and set them all off inside...... before trying to sleep there hours later.  Swept the dead spiders into piles in the corners.

Oh stay off the top spread of the bed.... I have heard that in between the sheets is much safer.

Some of that stuff was just plain gross.... now I have to rethink the camper options...   Grin

My beloved east coast states didn't fare too well in that one.  Seems like the tourist-y spots got the worst ones (Pigeon Forge, Daytona, Va. Beach, etc.).

Just one more example of you get what you pay for.
