Hey gang!

We changed the meeting format to move around and asked members to volunteer to host the meetings by getting reservations, directions, etc.  The next meeting date is in 2 days and we haven't gotten any firm places to meet yet.

Who wants to step up?  Maybe it's time to meet in Frisco or Allen.  Or Sherman.

If we wanna go east I'll set up Southern Junction just out of Rockwall (country steakhouse and dance floor) or Cotton Gin in Crandall (country cookin).  Seems like we take a lot of criticism when we go east, though. L

Just throwin' it out there for discussion and to stimulate more suggestions. Undecided

Bavarian Grill in Plano - north side of Parker just west of I-75 - oompah, accordion, sing-along, sausages, kraut, beer, schnapps of all kinds, and CFS, schnitzel, that is.  Plus the biggest smart-a$$ bartenderess I know of.

Babe's Chicken in Frisco - basically the far SE quadrant of Main & Dallas North Tollway - everybody knows Babe's

Blue Goose in Plano - Park, just east of Preston / 289 - maybe not the best TexMex, but there will probably be some twinkies parked out front  Evil  (just noticed I was alliterating)

Buca di Beppo in Frisco - westbound 121 service road west of Preston 289, in the Stonebriar Mall parking lot - really good food at a good value and you can color on the table.  (can't think of another B)

I can cage it to any place in Plano, Frisco or McKinney as long as Mary is feeling up to an evening out.  I will have to bring my chillen's also if we show up.

There is also a Snuffers in Rockwall on I30 overlooking Ray Hubbard Lake.  Good food, great view! (I mean of the lake!) L

Blue Goose is on everyone's list and we can mess with twin-kies.  That sounds like a good mix.

It would be a different location, that's for sure.

Doc mentions Snuffers in Rockwall. Any issues with that one or do we just go with Plano this time.

Guessing 15-20 max, based on the last meeting.  Who can make the reservations?  7-9PM.

Looks like "yes" to the Blue Goose.

Dave, would you get reservations for us?  Also, please let me know directions so that I can post to the email list.

Thanks

I spoke with the hostess, who consulted the manager.  They don't normally take reservations.  However, in light of the anticipated size and time (15-20 @ 7:00pm) of the party, she did write down my name, number, and affiliation so she can make sure the crew knows we are coming.  I told her if she would do that, I'd show up 6:30-6:45 to get us on the list.  She doesn't think it will be any problem and even relaxed verbally their policy of not seating incomplete parties.

So, if we can start working on a headcount I'll let them know if we are going to need more or less seating.  Thanks, DFG

Wasn't it someone on this list that said no one attends meetings unless they are at Joe's Crabshack in Grapevine???

This will be my first club meeting also and I plan to attend the rest of them that are in this part of town.

I was planning on coming, but if Wanderer is going to be there I don't know. Grin
I'm a definite maybe.

I may have a meeting with people in high places.

It's going to be a game-time decision.

With godfire, and hopefully Sly, I count 19-23.   cooldude  20.  20.  Do I hear 20?

We had a brief shower in Frisco this morning, but the hour by hour forecast clears up by early afternoon and it should be a really nice night for a ride.  I'm heading into Dallas and will hit the Blue Goose on the way back to give them a revised headcount.

I stopped by and spoke with the manager and he said that if we are patient (read "don't expect to all be seated at 7:00"), he will work to consolidate us in an area to the left of the front door.  It's not quite a dedicated room, but is as close as they have, and will hold all of us.  He said the patio will be full by 5:00 with people who may not turn their tables all night, but that we will all be seated together in as short a time as possible.  We'll probably have only one server, so that's where the patience may have to come in.  I told him we would be close to 25 people.

Mugmarine,
Good to meet you. You need to post some pics of your bike, I've never seen a blue and white Valkyrie, but Rainmaker (and Chuck) will agree, the blue Valks are the fastest.
