My ridin' buddy Gordon ( Lucky13 ) called me the other day wanting to use my wood buster. He did'nt get far into his pile of wood when he got his finger between the base and log .... Yes it left a mark  Shocked  When my son Cody was 14 he was helping me bust some wood and I did the samething to his finger  Sad

So who is the owner of that partial finger.... Gordon or Cody?

What is this "wood buster" you speak of?  Is it like a chipper?

I took off 1/4 inch of my nose picker with a router... and made a mess of the garage in the process.  Wife & kids were out when it happened and I had a neighbor take me to the Hosp... and when they got home they thought I was murdered and abducted.    Grin

I've never took a picture of my wood splitter but it's a hoss with a 16 horse motor and I've never stuck a log in it that it did'nt bust or finger either  Cheesy ....Finger in the pic is Gordon's ( Lucky 13 ) picture taken yesterday .

I don't rekon Gordon will be riding with us tomorrow.  That reminds me of when I almost cut my forefinger off with a radial arm saw a few years ago.  Didn't hurt until they stuck a needle in it to numb it.  Luckily, I didn't loose the finger.  Rehab was hell trying to get the finger and the one it was straped to for several weeks to work again.  Gordon, so sorry it had to happen to you good friend!

Dang, bet that hurts worse now than it did when it happened. Ouch!! Is he left handed? If so, that's his trigger finger I think.

Get well Gordon, that's gonna suck for a while.

Of course Greg the Detective hunted around until he found the Missing Digit Part.

It is residing in Gordon's Living area at his home.

In a baby food jar full of finger and alchohol.

A guy I work with has his Dad's Little Finger residing in his house, the Grand Kids wanted it.

Farm Equipment is a real Beech.

Might help to say a word or two about this to a devine being you ask for help from.

Gordon needs our thoughts and communications to get through this.

It's got to hurt to say the least.

My brother in law split his whole hand with one of those.  Opened it up between the thumb and hand.  Lost the thumb., all the way.  BAD injury.

Back in my crazy days a bud lost a finger and a half in an industrial accident. He put them in the window sill of an out building to dry and planned on wearing them on a neck chain. (Not kidding) He left the door open and a neighbors dog got in there, tore-up a trash bag and took his fingers.

Gordon, 2010  wasn't a good year for you with your crash that is. Now 2011 is not starting off much better. I guess you could look at it differently , you were lucky enough to live through what could have easily been fatal and you still have 2/3 of your finger. Man that's gotta hurt, hurts me just looking at it.

Hey Joe,

I've never asked, but why is Gordo called Lucky 13? if it's because he has Luck? I think he needs to change his name, or if its 13 lives, he sure is running out of luck and lives at the rate he is going.
All joking aside I sure hope he is OK.

Many years ago Big Al started callin' our local riding group " The Lucky 13 " we all had Lucky 13 stickers on our bikes....When Gordon joined the VRCC he just used it....He's been a member on here several years and read's the board all the time. I've only seen him post one time on the tech side before we went to this new style forum.Below Gordon pullin' a wheelie up Wheelie Hill on The Dragon.

Sorry this happened to you Gordon, but I can speak from experience on this one.  I had the tip of my right ring finger ripped off between a belt and pulley.

Make sure to get the physiotherapy and do it.  It will make the difference on day to day usage and the pain when you get it smacked.

. ...can you clutch....with three fingers ?

Ab-so-lutely.
I've been doing it for 7 years now.

Gordon, sorry to hear about you joining the "fraternity".  Mine looked an awful lot like that.  Same finger, same hand, and roughly the same amount (I lost a little more than it looks like you lost).
If you want to hear some experiences from a "been there, done that" guy, holler.

No_  meanin_    _o   make   li_h_t   o_    i_    _ut   does    _his   mean   _o_dan   will   misspell mo_e   wo_ ds?   now   when    _ypin_?
(okay maybe making a little bit light of it) Forive me I just woke up and my sense  of humor is stll a bit fuzzy.

When I did mine, I figured the only thing to do about it was to laugh about it.  I was making jokes in the hospital, and made the doctor wonder if they had given me too much of the happy juice.
Things got VERY amusing when I got back to my ASL (American Sign Language) class.  The possibilities are almost endless for ASL jokes.
(and I do sometimes honestly miss the "t" when typing, so yes, your comment is a joke, but it's actually reality for me, too.)

Yes Gordon... Sorry about your loss and I hope it all works out ok.  You will be better equipped to tell the weather now... once you figure out how to interpret the aches of your weather indicator.

I did recognize that Snow Thrower... got the same one and I am surprised up there you don't have chains on it.  And you did notice the tool clipped to the intake chute of that thing I hope... you are to use that to clear any snow jams... not your hands (unless you wish to compete with Gordon).
