2014 Valkyrie 1800

Seminole, Florida

« on: February 03, 2011, 02:53:42 PM »

My Friend Ron, from Clearwater Florida, a Valkyrie rider and a VRCC member, also responsible for introducing me to the world of Valkyrie motorcycles was hit yesterday in Arizona. I'm not totaly sure of his injuries as of yet. I know he was flown off scene by helicopter. I know it was his newer Valk, his 2003 with low mileage, and it was cut in half by the impact. The driver allegedly never hit the brakes at all. It's hard to piece together the facts long distance. He is alive and was being wheeled into a series of surgeries when I called. He was leaving for home in just a couple weeks. I'll post more as I know more. Most probably don't know him, I don't think he ever posted here, Not a computer guy, but did visit the tech pages and shoptalk.

Ah man -- no matter where the ride is from or where it happens I hate to hear this ----- We have so many out of state visitors right now -- and people are becoming more and more inconsiderate when they drive --- cut you off turn in front of you -- totally ignore their fellow travelers.

Kendall & I are here in AZ as well --- hadn't heard anything on the news about this accident.  Only thing I caught was a Scottsdale motorcycle cop in an accident this morning on the 202 in Chandler ---

We'll definately keep him in our prayers and be glad to do anything we can ---

Keep us posted please.

This is all I know at this time, I tried to talk with her this Morning and she was too exhausted and trying to sleep. I actually got him on his cell in the hospital, although I didn't get to talk long before the nurse ended it.  He came through 6 hours of surgery and is well drugged.
The accident was in Yuma, he was flow to Phoenix. I was hoping someone may be able to rescue whatever may be salvagable? If anything, I know there were some goodies that may have survived. Iron Horse Tank bib, Corbin seat, who knows? I will of course wait until I can have a conversation with him.
Thanks for all the good words cooldude I know he will appreciate it.
He will be getting his laptop next week.

At 67 years young, he's in great shape. Works out daily and should recover better than most Smiley

Ron, from some of our past rides...Good friend cooldude

Youv'e got allot of folks pulling for ya brother. Hope you get a chance to see this, heal up quick and get home!

He's home and healing. He checked himself out of the hospital, two friends flew out to Arizona and loaded up his motorhome and trailer and drove him home. He's got a walker and a wheelchair, but he seems to be doing ok without them. Really remarkable recovery. His other solo Valk  with the black & white checkered flag in the photo will be posted soon on the classifieds.
Thanks for all your good words and support, I'm going to forward this to him, maybe he'll chime in?
We had some REAL GOOD TIMES over the years on these scoots, gonna miss riding with you.
