Thanks man!...My caliber of choice is the S&W 500 with 375gr bonded double jacketed high performance hollow points..........who said it should be "fair"  LOL

(the round in the pic is my cheaper practice rounds though......Im sure they would take any pig too but they are a single jacket.......)

We have a feeder on the property, but its under repair right now so we hand spread corn and crawl in the weeds with the pesky things........keeps you awake!!!!  When we get the feeder operationg properly we will try out the stands, but that just dont seem as much fun

I carry my .357 as well as the .500.  The .357 is just to put one out of its misery after blasting it with the cannon (if needed) From all I read the .357 is just not big enough.  Nothing less than a .44 Mag and Ive seen some of them need multiple shots to get it down.

I remember an OLD episode of Wild Kingdom with Marlin Perkins handgun hunting big pigs.  A guy walking backup carried a full auto M3 .45ACP submachine gun.  A big tusker did attack and they used it.

ok   We got intel now!  They are coming in for a feeding early in the morning..........No wonder we stay some past sunset, bring up the sun and try all through the day and never see them.  Looks like from 0300-0500.  Looks like perfect eating size.......so this week we are going to brave the cold and be out there at 0300 ready to light em up........The camera flash didnt seem to scare them, so Im thinking some kind of lighting that we can turn on...they may think we are just helping them find the corn....LOL

That's what I'd want to use!

I understand there's $3000 prize money in this hunt...

Ya'll come plug a few for me! (I'll do my part and eat bacon/ham/sausage every morning with breakfast!)

Hunting pigs is on my bucket list...

Might not make it this year (then again I might).

Can't come in March (work committments -- gotta keep the electricity flowing).

Soon, I hope to check the "hog hunt" off my bucket list.
