Thanks to the advice of many of you on this board I broke down and got my new-to-me bags painted!  The guy did a great job and put a big dent in my wallet.  Oh, well, I'll get over it.  I just wish this snow and cold would go away so I could ride my suddenly fatter lady  cooldude.

I think it all depends on where you live.  Some of the Southerners suggested it might run $200-$300.  I got four quotes, two from autobody repair shops and two from custom painters.  They were all over $600.  It ended up being about $650  :'(  I think partly because the pearl/ivory is hard to match.  A fellow member here in Colorado had  his Interstate tank painted OEM black and it was over $500.

Thanks again for all the compliments  cooldude.  I can't wait to get her outside and take some real pictures.  My garage doesn't have the best lighting.  One more pic from her fat arse!

Seeing how it's not officially a Tourer, I was debating on whether to put the Tourer logos on.  They are actually Interstate bags and I have the Interstate logos.  Maybe someone would be willing to trade for a Tourer set.

Nice paint, and good choice on the color design.... not only does it perfectly match the bike, but wrapping the white around the back makes the bike a lot more visible.   cooldude

I've been a sucker for blue forever. With the exception of some use scrathes on a 12 year old bike i'll just have to live with the green and silver. but again-that is a fine looking paint job!

I paid right at $400 to get mine painted (but they're only two colors), including some repair work on the left bag.  I live in Kansas.  My painter paints motorcycles and custom rods.

great looking bike!!!  For what it is worth....I had a friend paint my bags for free, and he did a great job on them. He had them 10 months and I didn't want to seem "pushy", but wished I would of paid a premium to have gotten them faster  Undecided. I just took my trunk to him this week....I will never learn uglystupid2

That is a little more "pricey" than what some of us have paid, but every time you see your girl in the garage or parking lot on a ride somewhere, you will be glad you had them painted.  Excellent job and I love it!!!!!!!! cooldude

I know I probably paid more than I would have if I had shopped around longer, but it took less than two weeks and the guy did a great job.  I'll forget about the money when the weather warms up and I'm out riding  Wink

Remember you only paid too much once, but they will look great every time you look at the bike.

I love that color combo, even though my black and chrome one is faster. Cheesy

I gave the painter the oem codes.  He matched them up with PPG paint and mixed them himself.

Bags are looking sweeeeetttttt!

Are those a set of Mark T's Organ pipes I see lurking there?
When you get a chance, a good shot of the pipes and the whole bike would be appreciated.

Yes, those are Mark T's.  I have already contacted him about getting some 40" stacks instead of the 36" I have  uglystupid2.  I think they would look better with the hardbags if they extended a bit.  As for the picture, when I get back in town on Friday I will try to roll her out.  My wife told me the weather has been nasty all week and there is lots of snow on the ground.  I guess I won't be riding anytime soon  Cry.
