you could leave the house unlocked day and night, neibhors would return missing pets. i lived in a small town so you had to watch your ps and qs cuz everybody knew eberybody else; and your neibhors parents would rat you out to your parents. leave your keys in the ignition. saturday night wrestling my mom would put me in a headlock and give me a noogy. not child abuse at all. I'd give up my valk if mom could come back and give me a noogy!! i'm blessed with a 15 year old daughter that thinks it's still cool to chase fireflies.

I tell my grandkids about these things all the time, they love it. When they come out to our place in the country (we have 5 acers) they love to play with sticks and stuff like that. Just got a call as I was typing this that my daughter is bring 4 of the grandkids out to work with grandpa. LOVE IT LOVE IT.

Yelp this old world has gotten pretty bad. Can’t leave anything unlocked any more. Used be gone all day playing with friends no one knew where we were or what we doing (but mon and dad knew you would be ok) you could leave your bicycle along side of the road and it would still be there when you got back. Like you all have ready said you could leave the keys in your ignition now you have to remember where you put them. Go to sleep without having 45 under your pillow at night. Do something wrong and get a flyswatter taken across your legs (boy did that hurt) not child abuse just teaching you a lesson
It just not the same today live was good back then
Live is still good  Wink just have to work harder to keep what you have

Sounds like a great generation to have grown up in "OLD FARTS"  Grin Grin Grin Just jokes Steve. I love hearing stories from family members about the good ole days, mainly the 1970's. The day's of going road tripping on Honda CB750's. Sleeping on a picnic tables, drinking age was 19, Beer was less than quarter at the bar. Sounds like a great generation to be a part of

Hey Reb how you been? Just got one year older getting  Smiley closer to that old fart age but what a live.  crazy2  You going to make the WV ride with Joe?  Don’t know if we are going to be able to make it the way it looks now. Wife is working at the schools and as of now if they miss one more day we won’t be able to do it her last day of work will be June 8 ( we can still make it ) and if she take off a day then she will lose 500 dollars that will pay for the rooms at Inzane this year.  OH by the way we are going to have a fall ride again this year starting at Bedford  Smiley having trouble finding a BBQ place as of now no BBQ.  Sad
And it was a great time to live in and yes wife and I did road tripping on a 750 honda ( fully chopped ) and did sleep on picnic tables like they used to have along side of the roads. Would like to do it again only this time with a 45 in sleeping bag we loved it.
Hey you be safe and we will see you soon.

I guess we grew up in a great time and had parents and grandparents that made it that way.  Building tree forts, playing army, digging dirt tunnels, all stuff I'm sure would be frowned on now.  I remember around 1994 visiting a friend in the winter that lived in a "Neighbor Hood" .  There were huge snow banks at every street intersection.  I asked him where all the kids were?  We would have had snow forts and tunnels everywhere!  He said why in one word.  "Nintendo"

My wife just got a job after 2 years without. As a school bus driver. Split shift, cant tell the little "G's"  to sit and be quiet, even for their own safety. Just wait till they sitdown.
She had that job for one day. I told her there was no frakin way. We're ok.
My bus driver back handed me when I was nine and I begged her not to tell my folks.
