So, two plus years after the accident, countless trips to doctors, theraphist and specialist and still major discomfort.  A couple of attempts at long distance riding after several short in state rides and the pain, the pain wont go away.  I still have major discomfort on both sides; right wrist, left elbow, and the left ankle making riding extremly hard to  do and maintain. Ok, not to mention the emotional distress while riding, constantly checking to see what the cage next to me is doing and just how close is he to my space.  Or loosing it while in a curve; not throttling thru but hestiating....NOT good!!

So getting on to the chase, I have reached a decission, a sad one at that. I am putting up for sale the replacement bike; 1999 Interstate  Green and Cream with less than 45K, new rear tire, new waterpump,  fairing bra, new slow speed jets (.038) lots of aftermarket Bling. Some hard to find or you would have to pay out yer arse to get bling.
I can let it go bike alone for one price, or bike and a SHEETLOAD of spare parts, bling, CB Radio, xtralg rainproof cover, trailer, etc etc etc etc etc etc etc  for another price.  Mind you I am not trying to pay medical bills with the sale, I have a good insurance policy that takes care of me,  but I can not just give any of it away either.

It sadens me to have to do this but I bees trying to mend and riding just does not seem to be in the stars for me any time soon. So sell bike alone for one price or bike and stuff for a another price?

Put a realistic and fair price on the bike.
Do the same for the spare stuff. You'll probably realize more in your pocket.
Sell independent of each other and sell the parts seperately, not as a group. Means a tad more work but better for your pocket. If the parts go first, that's OK.
It is a difficult decision. Since you've made it, view it from the standpoint of it being a business practice.
Take some pics, though, so you can reminisce with a smile from time to time.
After all, you will always be one a of a very select group-a Valk rider!

Sorry to hear this.  You have to do what you feel is best for you.  Sounds like you have given this a lot of thought.  Good luck to you. Stick around the board.

I had a accident last August, just purchased my replacement bike a couple of weeks ago.  Have not
been cleared by the Doc yet but the ladies at PT tell my I should have no problem riding this spring.
First couple of weeks after the accident, I thought about giving it up and considered it for a few days. I decided I am not ready to stop.

Hate to hear it Bryan......not only that you need to sell the bike but more so that you are still so uncomfortable.  I cant imagine, I think I am one that takes good health and mobility somewhat for granted; dont know if I could deal with it as you are.  I wish you the best as far as mending and will put the word out on the street for the bike.  You know Im not that far away if there is anything I can do.  REALLY!

Sorry to hear that. Selling your bike is never an easy thing to do for sure. I wish you the best and hope you do get well soon.

Sorry to hear that but I can understand what you are going through. I messed up my left shoulder some how and the doc's don't know what up with it yet. Sometimes it hurts driving the truck. Best of luck with your recovery and the sale.

Howdy... I'm a relative newbie here (four years), but I think I recognize your name as one of
the long-timers... I'm praying for you, you're more important than the bike... as far as the bike
goes, I'd vote for trying to find someone who'll buy it all for a price you can live with and then
keep it with all the bling... it is getting harder and harder to build up a nice Valkyrie...

Bones and I was talking about you the other day and wondered how you were doing.  Sorry to hear you're giving up riding but your reasons are very valid and understandable.

Do what's right for you.  Yes, you will get more money if you sell it all separately but if you don't want to deal with it and find a buyer, let it all go at once.

Take care!  Kiss

Hate to hear that. But while you was at the house you was thinking about it. I will say the bike runs real good. Who knows maybe one day you do it again.

Sorry to hear this, Swoppie. I am faced with a similar situation and believe that you alone know when it's time. Good luck with your future endeavours and take care of yourself.
