I have always loved the look of the rock buildings in the Hillcountry!!!!!!!  So..... been working!!!!!  man,,... these rocks are HEAVY.  Finished last night in the dark...I didn't know FB was taking these pics..LOL..

 Will go up from the rock with roughcut 5/4" X 6" treated corral boards..... cut rabits to make them shiplap....

Thanks guys.... it was hard work but I think it came out pretty good.
   Yeah ... I put in anchors, screwed to the studs from the 2nd course up.....Also put up metal lathe.....so mortar that pushed to the back would have an anchor to the wall.  Hopefully it will stay up!!!!
  This is my 2nd attempt at masonry.... the 1st was building the fireplace on the patio....Can't be skeered...LOL...think it through......and just go for it..... the VERY WORST that could happen is.... I have ta tear it all out...... Shocked.LOL  my main concern is that the mortar had enough set time before the freezing weather.... it had 20 hrs?!?!?!?!?!  but it seems to be tight..... I'll check it out in the morning.
