Why would anyone shave a cow like that?

Broussard, Louisiana

Well, at least in Lafayette Parish.  Had to go down and get my police clearance today to get my visa renewal for Angola.  Yes, I have to prove that I am not an outlaw to get into an African country.  Let's just say that tourism is not a major industry for Angola.  It was cool this morning, but the rain had not started yet.  Put the spurs to Traveler and we went over and met Red when she went outside for lunch for her afternoon cigarette.  Spent a few minutes with her and then went over to a place I learned about on the internet last night for lunch.

It is right downtown and I must have passed this place 100 times and never noticed it before.  I was on the net last night and doing research for any road trips while I am in (you know, you gotta do your research - hahaha.)  Anyway, this place is listed as one of the best BBQ places in Louisiana.  Like I said, I must have passed it a 100 times, but after today, I am going to be a regular - for sure and for certain.  It is on St John Street downtown (about a block from the huge St John Oak that I took everyone to on the Romp ride).  Man, this place is AWESOME!  It's called Johnson's Boucaniere.  In Louisiana french, a Boucaniere is a "smoke house".

http://johnsonsboucaniere.com/

I had the Begnaud Special which was brisket with a sausage on top with home made bread pudding and praline sauce - washed down with an Abita Root Beer (made with Louisiana Cane Syrup).  Yessiree!

GREAT PLACE and for sure, GOOD EATS!

Then down to the Sheriff's Office to get my letter stating that I am officially not an outlaw.

Went and did some shopping and got caught in a very cold, pouring rain.  Well, you just gotta suck it up sometimes.  Home to hang the leathers out to dry and put on a pot of coffee....

But, now I have proof, I AIN'T NO OUTLAW!!!!!!

At least, in Lafayette Parish, Louisiana that is......

Strider,

Did you know that wearing a VRCC patch on your back could get you branded as belonging to an "Outlaw M/C" member in Canada by the Royal Canadien Mounted Police.

Most Candians are far more sufisicated than that, but there are always some that would like to make a name for themselves (Lawmen and lawmamkers alike).

Virtually all clubs are under suspiction by our neighbors to the north. Thank heavens for the CMA and the Candian ABATE groups to reign in these rouge lawmen.

Hmm...been wearing my VRCC vest and patch all over Canada since 2002 and never been bothered, except when crossing the US border once  Shocked Shocked  Guess I have been lucky, but we have had some pretty brutal gang wars up here in the past.

Pibit,
I seems from what I've been told, If you are in an area that is a known "hot spot" and you are wearing your patch, you may be cosidered "under suspicion".

Ride safe, ride aware.

And someday I may the pleasure of meeting  you at PD13.

They must have some fast horses.
Wouldn't they have a hard time catching you on a Valkyrie?

Strider....if you ever get to Marrero during the week...stop in at Juneau's Sandwich Shop(4016 7th St, Marrero, LA 70072) and try the weiner poboy...some of the best eatin I have had the pleasure to experience.  Since I am up in Va...I get there each time I go home (flyin a day early to just get there for lunch).  It is only open from 10AM -3PM.  The way you can judge the goodness of the sandwich is how many paper napkins you use to wipe your mouth with....

my parents once owned a restaurant and we served a thing called a panzerotti, it's like a pizza, deepfried, people would only try it 'cause the waitresses would describe it as a pizza.  once they tried it, they loved it!!  most people are sooooo use to their McMeal that unless it has a number infront of it, they won't try it.....  sad....

The out of the way places you've passed 100 times are often the best.
Glad you're not an Outlaw--in that county. Keep on rollin'
