Well, at least in Lafayette Parish. Had to go down and get my police clearance today to get my visa renewal for Angola. Yes, I have to prove that I am not an outlaw to get into an African country. Let's just say that tourism is not a major industry for Angola. It was cool this morning, but the rain had not started yet. Put the spurs to Traveler and we went over and met Red when she went outside for lunch for her afternoon cigarette. Spent a few minutes with her and then went over to a place I learned about on the internet last night for lunch.

It is right downtown and I must have passed this place 100 times and never noticed it before. I was on the net last night and doing research for any road trips while I am in (you know, you gotta do your research - hahaha.) Anyway, this place is listed as one of the best BBQ places in Louisiana. Like I said, I must have passed it a 100 times, but after today, I am going to be a regular - for sure and for certain. It is on St John Street downtown (about a block from the huge St John Oak that I took everyone to on the Romp ride). Man, this place is AWESOME! It's called Johnson's Boucaniere. In Louisiana french, a Boucaniere is a "smoke house".
http://johnsonsboucaniere.com/I had the Begnaud Special which was brisket with a sausage on top with home made bread pudding and praline sauce - washed down with an Abita Root Beer (made with Louisiana Cane Syrup). Yessiree!

GREAT PLACE and for sure, GOOD EATS!

Then down to the Sheriff's Office to get my letter stating that I am officially not an outlaw.

Went and did some shopping and got caught in a very cold, pouring rain. Well, you just gotta suck it up sometimes. Home to hang the leathers out to dry and put on a pot of coffee....
But, now I have proof, I AIN'T NO OUTLAW!!!!!!
At least, in Lafayette Parish, Louisiana that is......
