well ok nobody was talking about movies but anyway, there is one other thing about action movies that really frosts my wheaties. at some point in the movie the lead alpha male dude will shout something usless like "HOLD ON" when the intrepid band is in a out of control vehicle, yeah genius state the obvious.

and another thing, exactly how many movies are they going to make from comic books? dozens if my count is right. ummm superman, batman, spiderman, the hulk, ironman, the punisher, xmen, watchmen (i suspect) daredevil, spawn, aliens versus predators (i saw this comic book in the 90's) blade? hellboy? transformers? ok maybe not dozens

Nothing is original anymore. All the good stories have been told. What's left are just variations of the same theme with lots of CGI & explosions thrown in.

Kinda like music these days! Grin

Don't forget
Conan, Red Sonya, Red, Phantom, Fantastic 4, Silver Surfer, Thor, Green Hornet (was a comic after it was radio show), Catwoman. Ghost Rider, Jonah Hex, Electra, The Losers, Swamp Thing, Shena, Sin City. While I admit some were more grown up comics like Conan, Red Sonya, Shena, Sin City, they were still comics. Wish I still had the first edition Conan the Barbarian. It was tablet size.

Coming soon. New Thor, Captian America, Green Lantern, The Avengers, and Ant-Man.

Especially since Hollywood decided years ago the target age for MOST movies is around 13.

I can’t remember the last movie I’ve gone to.  I think it was “curious george” with my son…

I like to watch the old black and white, silent movies.  I’ll watch Harold Lloyd, and I’ll see almost every comedian out there trying to imitate him.  There’s very little creativity in Hollyweird.

I watch movies on my TV, usually AMC, FX, etc. Rent a DVD once in a while.  Haven't been to a movie since they shrunk the screens and closed the drive ins.  I went to one of those mini theatres once, never set foot in one again.  tickedoff hoser

I remember going to drive-in movies, Amarillo still has one. Do you know the one in Guthrie OK never shut down.  When we went to drive-in movies on dates, I rarely saw a whole movie.

ok guys, i know it's a remake of a classic, but True Grit with jeff bridges is a good movie.  the writing alone is extremely well done.  i took my marine son, who's home on leave, last night to see it (my second viewing) and he, not really a western fan, enjoyed it.
