Good thing I was in my truck.     cooldude   No one was hurt but my truck needs some work. Driver said that he didn't see me coming. I didn't have time to try and avoid the collision. I hate to think of what would have happened if I was on the valkyrie.  I'm a little shook up right now so  I'll have to miss the DFW VRCC meeting tonight. I was going to jump on the valk and ride to the meeting but I'm listening to the little voice in my head that is telling me not to go. Maybe next time.

Thanks for all of your concern. My truck is out of commission for now so I will be riding the valk to work until it is repaired. I'll be slowing down everytime I pass the intersection where the other driver turned left on me today.  I hope I don't have any problems with his insurance company.         Angry

Hey Victor - sorry to hear about the wreck but glad you are OK.  Trucks can be fixed.  If the insurance company gives you problems, get them to admit fault and then let your insurance company go after them.  We just did that with my wife's van because the other company low balled us on repairs.  Progressive paid out $800 more than the other company's estimate, didn't charge the deductible and is in "subrogation" with the other insurance company. I heard they are suing the offending driver as well.  Our car was repaired correctly by following that process and we didn't have to hire a lawyer (not that we have to hire one these days  cooldude).

The weather will at least cooperate for riding for the next few days.

You were missed at the meeting.  Your name came up a lot. Oh, and by the way....  you were elected Vice President, Secretary-Treasurer and Sergeant-At-Arms.   crazy2

(just kidding).

No coupons were handed out. No police were involved, so I hope I don't have any trouble with his insurance company. The driver of the other vehicle admitted that he was at fault to me, so we shall see. I have heard from his insurance company and they said that they have to talk to their driver to get his side of the story. They should be getting back with me within 24 hours. We shall see......         ???

Larry, I had every intention of making the meeting, but after the accident something told me not to get on my bike so I didn't. I'll try to make the meeting next month so that we can talk about the trip to the Gathering of the Fools. My vacation has been approved so I will be heading to Friendswood on the 1st of April for some tasty BBQ and to check out Hotglue's Black and Silver valk.      cooldude

Glad to know you're feeling OK, Victor.  Have you gone to the doctor to make sure everything checks out?  Do you have contact info for any witnesses?

Dave,

I feel O.K.. No doctor visits are planned. There were witnesses but I didn't get any of that information. I was trying to get my vehicle out of the middle of the busy intersection.  Just hoping for a good outcome with his insurance.         Smiley

I wish I would have just stayed there, called the police and waited for them to arrive. Lesson learned.              uglystupid2

I was always told that before you move a car, you get pictures. With cell phones, almost everyone has one onhand. Of course, none of that usually comes to mind while you are in the middle of it.  Hope it all works out for you.
