Has anyone done it??  I saw a HD and there were speakers mounted in the side engine pods (I know their not called that on a harley, they’ve got a special name for ‘em) and I thought, what a cool idea!!  I’m adding four alpine speakers, two 4” on back and two 5 ¼ “ in front with a Nakamichi four way amp under the fairing.  I love my music when I'm riding.

If you’ve got pictures let me see ‘em!!  I’ll add some pictures of my wire run when my lights come in for my trunk, I’m thinking some of you’s will really be impressed.  Like an idiot I didn’t video tape how I fished my wires through my trunk lid, I’m pretty sure I can explain it easily to you all….

There's not a lot of room in there, and you don't want to disrupt the flow of hot air off the radiator (the pod's purpose). And the speakers might not like that hot air.  I have seen one interstate where the guy added handlebar mount speakers in addition to his fairing speakers. (not for me)

The pod is for air flow, hot air flow, and do you really want to block that and place a speaker where it is hot?

You have an IS then, so you can mount 4 speakers, 2 front and 2 back. I would think the only things else you might want is a pair of tweeters, which you should be able to mount in the inside fairing. Would you need speakers pods also with those?
