Morristown, Tennessee. Lived there a couple of years. Use to ride all the time up at Panther Creek (SL-70) and my brother rode a Yamaha 250 MC. Loved the country up there. Use to live about half way up Crockett Ridge above the Country Club. Back then you could ride through the woods from my back door almost all the way to Lake Cherokee. Had a trail ridden out all around my house.
Daddy use to work for Tennessee Flakeboard. Brother graduated High School in Morristown - sure brings back some good memories.

I thought this was funny. Guy who was going to get the country manager position over in Africa but turns out was too big a pri** and the locals banned him, so he couldn't come...Anyway, we are riding in the car from the office to the staff house and motorcycles came up...You know I am a firm believer that whatever miles you put on a bike are good ones..(you get what you can when you can)...BUT.
He tells me that he is a rider too. Says he is going to have to change tires on his bike when he gets home - afraid they might be dry rotting. Dry Rotting? Says he hates to change them because of mileage. How many? Almost 3000 miles total on the bike. Really, how old is your bike? I've had it for 8 years. 8 YEARS!?!?!?! Gee whiz, almost time for an oil change there dude.
Sorry, but 3000 miles in 8 years averages 375 miles a year (and you figure he probably put most of those on the first year or two). Man, I am sorry, but I was thinking, dude..... That is a short day trip per year on your Harley. Get new tires before your old ones dry rot, change the oil (heck, you have 3000 miles on it) and sell the dang thing.

Sounded like he had it in 2nd the way the clutch slipped. Unless he put it in nuetral when I wasn't paying to much attention at th end.
Just before he rode off, I noticed dropped it into a lower gear before he took off.

I'm just guessing here, but could it possibly be that his brakes are synchronized? When he locked up the front wheel the smarta$$ed bike insisted that the rear wheel lock up at the same time?
I know gold wings do that (the newer ones). Not sure about those "Hardley Ever-go's."

I was expecting him to launch that Electra Glide into the crowd or a car. The ending was anticlimactic! Yep, that clutch is toast.

It looks like a Screamin Eagle Electra. As far as I know, H-D doesn't have linked brakes, even on their 2011 bikes. I think he just had too much weight on that back tire, along with being completely incompetent as a tire burner!

if the bike has abs, it has a proportioning valve. since 2008, abs has been an option and that is an ultra. even the se electraglides didnt have pods. that bike has pods...

Having spent last summer selling Harley's... That Ultra is more than capable of doing a burnout. The ABS, if equipped will make the front wheel shudder, but it shouldn't affect the rear. I would call this a bad case of rider error. If you can outsmart the bike, you should be able to do a burnout on just about anything!

exactly T-bird...an ULTRA with pods. one had to purchase as an accessory if they wanted pods on the electraglide. either way, he is an idiot.and around here, a SE Ultra is about 35k.

Hoser,
I was thinking the same thing! The engine is reving high... no smoke from back tire... something's gotta give. I was expecting to see smoke coming from the primary case.. or see the final drive belt spit off the back end like a rubber band.
Damn.... I could trade that bike in and get a nice late-model used car for my wife!
Anyone think the bike made it home from that rally under it's own power?

If by "pods" you mean lowers (the deflectors on the engine guard), all Electra Glide Ultra Classics have them.

electraglide classic and an ultra are different trim packages. yes both same bike(as are most f them) but still a difference between them. not picking, just pointing out it aint a SE electraglide, its a SE ultra. there is a difference. thats all.

Some motor company riders know a little more about this than others. One of our friends who passed away a couple years back could do this on his Dyna., Usually the drive belt breaks at about this point.

As with a lot of things, This guy obviously had more money than riding experience. No matter what the year, that's a 100+ ft lb bike. If you can't do a burnout with that, you shouldn't attempt it. The video is a perfect example of that! Of course, it wouldn't be the first time someone got his buddy to do something stupid.

I'm guessin its the DORK division of the HOG. Glad they werent doin that to a Valk. The power and technological advances would overwhelm the poor sods. When the spectater pours his beer behind the tire, well that says alot too.
Get it,,,,,spectater,,,,,,,,,,tater,!!! AAAHAAHAAHA I just kill me sometimes.
