Yep thats it

I mean the sun actually was sort of out there and it was 33 degrees so I chipped away the ice some more and had enough room to get the beemer up to the street

Off I went up along the Hudson River past Croton and decided to chance the road going to the Croton Dam.   Pic is taken from the lower bridge over the river

Next pic is from the money spot that I put everyone at to take their pics when they visit

The 1150 is such a great winter bike and I only needed the low heat setting for the grips, no other electrics needed.

On return I would swear the Valk was sobbing quietly and I just knew I had to chip more ice to get her out as well   Drove to the gas station and was surprised to see only 25 psi in rear wheel and 30 in front

But it had not been ridden since before christmas week and in an unheated garage  Once she had air we had a great ride going nowhere

Oh and the bike started with one itty bitty push of the button but with choke on

An attitude adjustment is a good thing  Hope you all get to ride soon

Man, I'm spoiled with all the riding time available out here! I really need to put more miles on the old Tourer! It's probably pissed at me by now!

I took off yesterday morning with the temp down around 30 or so, to try out my heated gear for next weekend's Mid Winter Ride to Austin.  They worked great.  cooldude   Checked the 10 day forecast, and it's going to be in the 70's next weekend.,,,, oh well, at least they worked and didn't burn up the charging system.
Got to get in some riding before summer sets in.  Evil

If I could have gotten my Valk through all the ice in my driveway, I would have ridden this weekend....( I can hardly get my car up and down the driveway)

I took the Chevy Trike out yesterday with the O2 tank and everything.

Kicked it in the arse at a stoplight and took the front wheel off the ground.

Guess who was watching.     Yup, Mr. Iowa State Trooper.   He pulled me over, I stopped, put both hands on the bars and waited till he walked up.  He took one look at me, asked how old I was, told him 78, he said you know better than that, I said yes sir I do, I just hit it too hard.

He said nice day out to ride, I said yes sir, he said, now keep that front wheel on the ground, now get out of here.  Yes sir......  I took off.   He followed me for about 6 miles, and red/blue lighted me again.  Pulled over, stopped, he walked up and said this is a very unusual request, but could I have a little ride on your rig.   Said yes sir, undid the seatbelt and said crawl on.  We took off, he was very impressed, went up the road about 2 miles, he said that is good enough, lets go back.   He was thanking me all the way back, then he told me he rode a old GL1000 about 20 miles a year.  It was his dad's.    Very nice guy.

Whatever it is, it's better in the wind.

On a road less traveled.

I went and picked a new to me 2001 Interstate in SC on Friday. The ride down to Savannah was not too bad, stayed over night. Got up Sat. and it was 29 out and there was Ice on the seat. I had not planed on it being that cold when I left Fort Lauderdale on Friday to fly up to SC it was 70 at 6:30 AM. I could only take so much on the plane, so I had to mount up with what I had and go as far as I could. Didn't really warm up till I got down to Post Malabar. From there the rest of the ride was pretty good. This is Sunday, back in Ft. Lauderdale.

Ha ha...good story. We'll wait for a good gully-washer. Ya might think it's fog over the roads up here this time of year but it's really clouds of salt churned up by the wheels of traffic. Bad, bad, bad for aluminum n steel.

Gear Jammer...you're gonna love the 'lectrics. Extend yer riding season by muchly and it's sooooo nice. you'll never go without 'em again.  Smiley
