I've done a search and found tons of posts on front and rear tire sizes suitable for the front wheel of a Valkyrie. I've seen 130/90/17,  150/80/17, has anyone tried 150/90/17? I've found a Canadian distributer that has a rear Dunlop D404 Whitewall in that size, and don't want to buy one if it isn't going to work out. It would have a profile 15mm taller than stock.
Any advice would be appreciated, spring is coming...
Fred.

Phred
I have a D404F on the front of mine, I would think the F stands for front, so I can not tell you if the one your are looking at is the same or not.

Mine fits good and so far it has held up well, but there is only about 4,500 miles on it.

15mm really isn't much. Is that diameter? If so the the tire will be 7.5mm closer to the fender which will be the limiting dimension. You may be able to measure the distance between your current tire and the fender and get a pretty good idea whether it will fit.
It will also raise the front end of the bike by 7.5mm

JimC; those are nice, and fill the fender up well, but the front is a 140/80/17, I'm thinking 150/90.

The 15mm is profile height, so 15mm height and closer to the fender. Once I can get the jack under her (snow/ice) I'll give it a spin with a 20mm thick rope around the tire and see if it binds. I want the rear up front for the meatier look and tread depth; AND it's actually cheaper than the same in a front tire.
And according to the tire comparison chart, it should make the speedo read closer to actual at hiway speeds...
Thanx for the info,
Fred.

I've gone with the 130/90-17 D404 rear, and will have it installed reversed. Had to get in on the winter tire prices, and this size is tried and proven. I'll still check in the spring to see if the 150/90 would work; I'll need another one next year...
Thanks again,
Fred.
