I'm such a hopeless romantic I bought her a cold steel knife the "point" its basically a shiv. I asked her if shes used it on anyone yet, she said she was waiting until I get home  Shocked

she got me two 15 round  magazines for my beretta, life is good.

I'm calling her bluff that she doesn't want any of that materialistic manufactured Hallmark Holiday BS and just told her that I love her and appreciate her all year long an extra time or two...

Anyone got a couch I could borrow if this doesn't work out? Wink

I'm with RJ. anything more than a card at this point would raise some eyebrows. 36 years of training pays off sometimes.

Mama and I talked it over a week ago and decided we wouldn't buy Valentines gifts for one another.  I'm pretty sure St. Valentine's Day is nothing more than a conspiracy by commercial interest to persuade us to spend more of our hard earned money on meaningless junk.

I've got room for you on the couch, Serk.   Smiley

Robin you are in first place so far, I think.

Dinner and Flowers both are something you shared together and with attention focused on each

other only.

I could not help but notice some form of roast in the dinner.

Does that look familiar Willow?

AL

Did I mention my little(WELL NOT AS LITTLE AS SHE USED TO BE)(SHE DOES NOT READ THIS BOARD)

(Therefore I may live a few more minutes)

Sweetie is 47 as of today.

Yes she was born on St. Valentine's Day. Every year on 2-14-? it is time for me to get two gifts.

Also when she gets some Sun, and she is pale as a ghost usually, due to being blonde to the bone,

she has a heart shaped birth mark,,  that shows up on the back inside area of her ankle.

You can't make this stuff up, it is true.

If you only knew the extent of the weirdness, of my existance on this earth.

But that's for another day.

gets every year.

Points on the training,,,aspect,,,, though.

She cooked a some nice steaks, and I cleaned up the kitchen...

We wanted to fire up the Weber, but it is very windy and the humidity is down around 20 percent,
so she cooked them the "blackened" way, inside...

She doesn't need anything.  She has me.  Did get her a card.  And we do not exchange gifts on Valentines Day.  It takes money out of the go fast chrome account.  Married 28 years.

Been married 38 years.  Still got the dozen roses (white, how stupid).  Also gave her a photo copy of the confirmation of the week long Caribbean cruise we are saving for (if I ever get out of school).  Her biggest gift is not having to hear me bitch about stupid professors who ask questions like "What is the cause of fever of UNKNOWN origin?"

Got her a card - she got me a card. Made her breakfast. Then she took me out to lunch.

Of course, I had to drive 3 hours to do this as she was out of town on a week long assignment.

Married 32 years.  Doesn't seem that long, though.  Just flies by.

I picked up a dozen red roses for my bride on the way over to the big city. We stopped at the bookstore and had coffee at their coffee shop when we got their. She picked up a book on the way out, but that doesn’t count. We then headed down the Mall to the Jewelry store. I got her a matching set (ring, earrings, and necklace) of her birthstones (Yellow Topaz.) And, we dropped off her gold necklace that was her mothers to get repaired. She’s been wearing it since her mother passed away in 2000 and it broke. We stopped for supper on the way home. Her eyes were sparkling and it was worth every penny!

Forget all that though. . . . She WON by getting me a scope for my new assault rifle and a box of high density defensive 12 gauge rounds that I’ve had my eye on, but didn’t want to spend the ‘ridiculous’ money on. Nothing says “I love you” like equipment for your weapons and goofy, expensive ammo! She also urged me to buy a double barrel, double hammer shotgun I’ve had my eye on for some time, but I decided to wait.

It was a good day

I got my babe a pair of nice I-pod ear phones (before any of you say anything that is what she wanted),lol. For use when we are riding the valk.  I also sent her flowers at work. I told her in the morning that they were coming. She asked me why I did that. I said because I love her and that I have a reputation to uphold with her coworkers. You see I send her flowers are work a lot and her coworkers are Jelous. She told me that because the flowers didnt get there until later in the day her coworkers asked her if I was slacking off.....LOL.....

When I was young and just married this subject came up....what did ya get your wife for valentines.  An old man on our construction job in all his wisdom told us "If you don't get your wife anything for Valentines.......somebody else might."     My wife gets flowers every Valentines day....38 yrs of marriage this November 10th.
