I rode out to get a haircut this morning. On the way home i decided to stop and get a bite to eat. I was sitting waiting for my food when a lady and her husband asked if that was my bike sitting there. I said yes and commented on the good weather we are having. The lady said " You know you should really sell your bike with all that is happening in our country right now."  :I replyed " And what good will that do". She said " Well, there are alot of people that can not afford to have such things and that is not fair to them." Now i have always found myself able to relate to most people i have incountered in life and i am good at seeing both sides of the story. But no matter how hard i tried to see her point i just could not bring myself to understand her point of view. Then to top it off her husband said. " They {the goverment} should pass a law restricking the amount of extra things people should be allowed to have" I said " No, what they should do is pass a law to make it legal to lookup stupid people like you for mental illness that want to destory the USA , that's what we need to do. ". Needless to say that ended the conversation. I was so mad riding home. I wish i never left the house this morning.  I have lived here in california now for 44 years and i know we have some werd folks out here but i am getting to the point were i just can not deal with it anymore. |

Don't let it bother ya. Lets assess the situation ......
They were obviously hypocrites.
If they are so socially conscious that they can look down their noses at you why don't they look at them selves first.
They were sitting eating in a restaurant.
If they can afford to eat in a restaurant they must have excess resources that exceed their actual needs.
Why weren't they eating at home and giving their extra resources to a food bank that would help sustain the less fortunate?
If they were traveling out of some necessity (other than to try and spread their particular idiocy) why didn't they have accommodations that could satisfy their basic needs without "splurging" on the extravagance of having someone wait on them?
One thing is for certain, this pair sure don't have even a gram of extra when it comes to the grey matter. My advice is that you should handle the stress of this encounter like a dog would, just piss on it and walk away.

Its Hussien coolaid they have been drinking. Its precisely that mindset that got him elected, and its precisely that mindset that is helping him tear down the greatest society that ever existed. That same mindset would allow him to form a one world government and become president for life. We have to get that fool out of there when his term is up. We are still suffering from another one termer, Jimmy Carter. It takes many years to overcome the damage jerks like this do. I will say though that California has more than its share of lunatics.

I can't understand their logic. So let's say you admitted "Yes, I'm a greedy, fascist dictator/victimizer of the common man and my motorcycle is a symbol of this unconscionable crime against humanity" (or whatever would tickle their ears)... so then you sell the motorcycle.... wouldn't you therefore need a BUYER? Then wouldn't this buyer become the NEW greedy fascist dictator/victimizer of the common man? And what are you supposed to do with the money from the sale??? Isn't possessing the money itself a symbol of what's wrong with our society??? I'm amazed not only at their hilarious ignorance but their willingness to expose it to others!! Alabama welcomes Valkyrie's and any other breed of bikes. I got four different breeds under the garage roof as proof. As a teazer, property taxes as per "Where to Retire" Magazine has Dothan, AL listed as the lowest city in the nation on property taxes on a $150,000. house and the second lowest on a $200,000. house. I have a 5 year old house with 4500 feet under roof, 2500 sf heated and cooled and valued at $250k and only pay @$700 a year for property taxes. Housing in our area is a bargain compared to many other areas of the country. Besides, there aren't very many active Valkyrie riders in the area so come on, ya'll are welcome here anytime. We'll start our own yuppee terrorizing too many toys gang.

Thank you for all your responces. I would like to move. I found Tenn a great state. I was there for 6 weeks at the NCO academy. Loved the people. However with both sides of the family here and we have the only grandchild on my side. If i were to make a move it would have to be after my folk passed on. Don't get me wrong i like were i live. We have for the most part all year round riding and besides a earthquake here and there the weather is pretty mild. Were i am are in the central valley i am close to everything. the coast is 2 hrs away. The mountains 45 min. California is a great state to see and exsplore and i am proud to say i helped defend it for 22 years. But it has gone to the liberal side in most areas except a few. one of witch i live in. It just is not the california i knew growing up.  |

My wife & i travel in a 26' motorhome & sometimes get similar comments @ gas stations as to the amount of fuel we use. I avg. an honest 12 mpg. with a Ford V-10. Many people ask why we would travel in such a vehicle in such economic times. If i respond @ all, I just smile & say I'm doing my best to stimulate the economy & keep the gas station employees in jobs.  the hobo |

Yep... that's the way to stimulate the economy.... stop buying toys. Do they realize the impact it would have if there were no bike/boat/whatever else sales? 1000's and 1000's would suddenly be jobless.
