My riding partner has a 98 standard and his GF wants to get him an intercom system for the bike. They use full face helmets, and would like the option of plugging in an MP3 player. What are your thoughts?

Or the full fledged J&MCB2003DU that's hard-wired to bike, cooldude  and you won't be left needing to change out batteries.    tickedoff   Can also hook up XM radio, iPod or MP3, radar detector and Garmin.   Wink  Not as inexpensive as the Integratr1V  though.  One of those "you get what you pa for" deals.  Cheesy

I have one of the cheap blue tooth ones from eBay (about $70 iirc), they work well and with the blue tooth there are no wires to worry about. You can connect your BT phone, BT Sat Nav and or BT MP3 too if you want to. You can also plug an MP3 player in with a supplied cable as well. So all in all a good investment for me.

Whatever it is, it's better in the wind.

Baehr makes a killer system, but it aint cheap, I have one that I bought in 2007 and it works great, a buddy of mine has his for almost 10 years and loves it, it will connect to Ipod, GPS, Cell phone and I believe you can get an adapter for CB if wanted. Its hard wired to the bike and all parts are under the seat. I had a cheapo from JC whitney before (if you call $70 cheap) and it just did not work well and dare it get wet.

For his sake, I reccomend one that doesn't work real well... maybe with the "voice activated"... Got one, used it for a couple rides, and pawned it off on my dad... I enjoy talking to my wife... but it irritates me when she drives from the back seat. After about 3 "Why didn't you turn here" and 50 "Watch out for that car!", I couldn't hack it! The nice thing about voice activated is they don't work half the time... so I could deal with it a little longer.

I like the Scala Ride G4. Bluetooth, A2DP, can coordinate with your GPS, Phone, MP3, or just about anything. Can get them for full face, or 3/4 helmets. A mile range. Noise cancellation is 2nd to none. Backwards-compatible with the Q2, which is substantially cheaper. I got the Powerset (two of them) for the wife and I, and the Q2 Multiset (also 2) for my daughters. So, anyone who rides with me is set. Hop on, link up, and go. The Q2 has to be wired, for the MP3, but my daughters don't like MY music, anyway. The G4 is wireless bluetooth. I like listening to music, being able to talk, yet take an emergency phone call if necessary...
