The Twilight Zone

« on: February 15, 2011, 09:49:36 PM »

Hi, I'm wanting to buy floorboards, shift kick and a relocator kit. I'm wanting to get it similar to my VTX and harleys and others with the same set up.

My question is that it seems my floorboards would feel comfortable under the center of my heads. Is that doable? I can't find a picture of front boards on a Valk- but the ones that supposed for a Valk shows a different bike.

Most all on the board suggested I go with all Ratttlebars and Cobra boards. I was just curious about the Kury boards. They really have a fancy look with the chrome. I think Rivco makes one too. Any body got the Kury boards , esspecially with the RB combo?

Thanks in advance. Smiley

Did you find any floorboards yet? I saw a set in the classifieds here.

Take a look here...

http://www.xf6-custom.com/partpages/floorboard.html

Kinda spendy, but once you take a look around his site, and talk to the owner (Daryl), you will see that he has ideas and visions for our Valkyrie that really turn heads  cooldude

Daryl is a member, and a VRCC sponser.  Call the number in the ad.  He answers.  He is the chief, cook and bottle washer at XF6, and his customer service is second to none  Wink

Thanks Tundra, but you may have seen my wanted ad or the MC shifter& floorbards which I had been advised from the board as well as independent reviews to stay away.

Thanks Wink

What Kuryakyn boards are you talking about?  Some use the iso wings (with proper adapters to peg mounts).  Sort of a half floorboard, and a lot cheaper than cobras.

http://www.kuryakyn.com/Products/958/ISO-Wing-Pegs-without-Adapters

I don't think Rivco makes a board for Valk.

Tony... you know you'll scrape your floorboards on every turn if you go north of 11...

Speaking of which... it will be 70+ degrees on Friday, I want to ride the rest of the tread
off my tire then... can you (or anyone else around here) ride on Friday?

Jess you're right, Rivco just makes some sharp chromy ones but they are passenger only. Kury make one#4380 , but are plain. I think Kury sells dress up kits for boards.

I use the Kury Iso Wings for both pilot and passenger along with Rattlebar's peg relocator and have no complaints. The relo lets you drop the pegs about an inch and also move them forward, makes a big difference in comfort for me.  cooldude

I already have the Kury Iso wings. Can you send me a picture of yours? I'm 6'3" with a 34 inseam and know i probably need the relocator kit. Maybe the relo is all I need. I wished I knew how to post my Photostash pics here so you can get an idea of my set up now. cooldude

Go to Photostah, find the picture you want, enlarge it to fill the screen.
Now, right click your mouse on the picture, left click the properties.   Copy the link that comes up.
Come back to your post and paste that link into the body of your message.
Highlight that link.
Up above on the bottom row, 1st symbol is the code you need to click on.
Presto, ya got a picture.

Jess 'What Kuryakyn boards are you talking about?  Some use the ISO wings (with proper adapters to peg mounts). '
Do the adapters come with the wings, or a separate purchase?

I looked over the Kuryakyn metric floorboards before an earlier post.... At least two (I think) were universal fit, and you have to get the correct mount to OE peg adapters for your bike (just like pegs for Valk).  I did not take the time to go thru the links to see if they are supposed to fit Valkyrie, and because the Valk is out of production, it may not be listed, but may (or may not) be feasible.  If you are interested, a call to Kuryakyn tech line would be in order.  I already have Cobras, and they are well worn but will not be replaced until and unless they fall off.

Check Cruisercustomizing.com . The # is KY-4351 around $143, but you have to buy the adapter.
