Anybody installed an aftermarket clutch line on an Interstate? Did the new line replace the entire stock line (including the hard-tube section), and if it did, how difficult was it to route the replacement line.

Yep, just did mine a little bit back during my Big old thread topic of MultiPoint upgrade and replace/Maintenance.

The Galfer did repace the entire line including the hard line routing was a bit of a pain but not ridiculously hard to do. The hardest part was getting the new line connected at the slave cylinder at the back of the engine case. I routed it a bit different around the frame under the tank trying to be smart I thought and it has caused a bit of fitment issue with the airbox so I might redo the install before I am all done. Price for the Galfer complet Kit all three lines front brake rear brake and clutch and a bottle of fluid I gave $199.00 on EBay and I still see these kits available. If you would like more pictures let me know and I will see what I can do for you.

Another suggestion that just came to mind literally right now so I came back and edited this post, was lay the line out and fish it through from the center of the line do a little bit in each direction instead of trying to pull it all the way around fron one end of the line if that makes any sense to you if not then I can try to draw out what I am trying to explain tomorrow night at work for you.

Best advice make clear note of routing maybe a few pictures before you remove anything and refer back too them when you install the new line, be patient your probably gonna bump some knuckles when your installing the section around the swingarm.

Upon trying to replace some kind of a line in a bike, use a string/rope to mark where it belongs.

When I replaced my throtle cable in an 82' GW, I tied a string to it first, then pulled it out. Just fished it back in and through the bike. There was no room to get my hand in there, but with the string and pulling it through and guiding it with my fingers to get it passed obstructions. This way it goes right back where it came from.

You can upgrade your GWRRA to Rescue Plus and cover all drivers and all vehicles at the residence.
