My first Honda was a black/silver 1966 CB160. This one was my second bike and it also was (1968) CB 160. The local Honda dealer in El Paso in 68 was having a real good sale on them so it made sense for me to buy one..I think they were selling them for around $450 which was $100 off the normal price..The problem with them was that they came out of the factory they were partially pink. They had a pink mist over the white paint..The dealer convinced me that the Texas sun would take care of the pink in no time !
I mention this because at that time I was in the Army stationed at Ft. Bliss.
The pink bike went over big with the rest the unit...but as I told the the jokers.."I'm riding and you're walking"......yes the pink faded quickly

My 3rd bike was also a CB750K but a '78. Red and Black, Good lookin thing, but...

Worst POS bike I ever owned!!

Seems that year Honda changed the charging system from a magneto style to an alternator which was on the end of the crankshaft.  Or so I was told.  The windings would come apart after awhile and quit charging, and mine did.

The sorry piece of crap left me in the middle of the road and if I would of had a can of gas and a match I would've burned it to the ground right there!!!

Swore I'd never buy another Honda.  So much for promises, huh?

This was the 1st Honda I bought for my daughter.

I bought one of these, the guy needed $$$$, it had 900 miles and I gave him what he wanted,   $50.00    Kids run the 4377 out of it.

We used to ride the fire roads on this one.   It wasn't much good.

Got this one off of the CHP at a sale.  It had like 80K on it.

Got the 1st one in the door of this Gold Wing.

My favorite Gold Wing, traded it for a 86 SEi.   Big mistake, till we figured out why it boiled the gas in the tank.    Fuel pump tooooo close to the exhaust.   On a couple of trips the daughter carried her water gun so as to spray the pump when the bike started slobbering.

The famous 86 SEi trouble maker.

Then of course, I had a Harley in here and traded it even steven out the door for this one.   Still got him.

My first bike was an '82 V45 Sabre.  It was plenty fast for a 750.  Probably give the Valk a run.

Mine had a fairing on it though.

My first was a 1975 400 Super Sport 4 cyl.  I didn't like the cafe racer handle bars so I had the dealer swap on regular bars from a 350.  Thing had a 10,000 redline and would go from zero to 65 real quick in first gear.  Here's a not very good pic with my little neice trying it out.  Maybe the only pic I have of that bike.

My second one was a '77 750A.  That was a strange but interesting bike.  It had a fuse box that was made of polyethylene and it melted and left me stranded a couple of times.  Honda finally recalled it to fix the fusebox, soldered the connections and supposedly used fuse holders with greater tension but it failed/melted too.  The main fuse would get so hot that the solder in the fuse would melt and flow down hill to one end and break the connection.  I fixed it by soldering in a circuit breaker that fit into the fuseholder.

my first bike, new 1979 750 F   me and my friends  bought 28 hondas that month, all at good prices.

**note from the last post, I liked your bars and bought 400 sport bars for my 750 !!!

my second was the 1980 CBX (black one)  and then the 1982 CBX. In may of 1985 Honda cleared the warehouse and it was almost half price. It was cheaper than the 750 was in '79

October of last year, another 6 cylinder after not riding for 13 years

It's not a Honda, but the first thing I rode, 1958 Lambretta. I did have it in town when I was 16

My first Honda. Bought nearly new from a scared guy. I was 15 at the time. Texas had a "5 Brake HP" restriction back then if under 16. I convinced lots of police that the 450 on the cover meant 4.5hp.

My first bike was a CB750. I rode it back and forth to college and then rode it everywhere I wanted to go. The other day as I was pulling into the college's parking lot I spotted a CB750 parked under a tree and smiled.

My first bike was a 76 CB360 I bought new for $600 when I was 16. I remember taking it to Daytona beach for the day, and at the end of the day could not get it to start. Some guy driving by in the bed of a pickup saw me kicking and shouted out "Do you have your wallet under the seat?" I said "Yeah" and he said to take it out of there before starting. He was right! I took the seat off, pulled out my wallet, and it fired right up! I guess the wallet was blocking theair intake, but talk about an on-the-fly diagnosis! He was gone before I could thank him but I will never forget that.

My "Back in the day" bike - 1981 CBX -  is in my garage today! (I've only had it since 2007 though...). I ride the hell out of it! This pic was on a ride to the Barber Museum during a CBX rally. Put about 2200 miles on it over 5 days.

Fits my garage well too - "12 of my favorite things"
