I was a subscriber to G&A for more then 10 years, I'm kinda getting the bug again since I've been regularly hitting the gun range. I just loved the 2nd amendment articles about a gun in the hands of a law abiding citizen detered crime. this happens alot more then I thought it did, 800,000 times a year according to our government even higher by some private surveys. some were pretty memorable;

as told by one of the grandchildren, there was a prowler in grandmas neighborhood and one night the grandkids were over for dinner and there was a noise on the back porch. grannie yelled something about they 'better git' and told the kids to cover thier ears. after the second noise grannie drew a .25 or a .32 from a kitchen drawer and fired 2 rounds through the back door up high where she wouldn't hit anyone but scare the crap outta them. they were never bothered again.

one lady was a farmers wife left behind one day as the farmer went to town, she looked out her window and saw a couple of unsavory types standing by her station wagon. she grabbed her hubbies 20ga single shot and opened the door enough to tell them to amscray, the lead dude said he had bought the car from her husband and was here for the keys. she agian told them to leave the guy gets a little upset and starts toward her, she levels the shottie at his chest and they both take off.

one younger fellow moves into an apartment and has his guns at his parents house for safe keeping, one night not too long after he's in there a couple of drunks start banging on his door demanding money from the former tennant. he's shouting back the guy doesn't live there anymore but the drunks aren't buying it. suddenly he has the bright idea of shoving a piece of mail under the door to prove who lives there and he grabs his current issue of guns and ammo. when the dullards outside see the magazine one says to the other "i didn't know he was a gun nut, lets get outta here"
