At the last Inzane I was lucky enough to win
a piece that goes behind the front fender and mounts
to the crash bar in front of the oil filter,it says Valkyrie.
My question is do I have to remove it to change my
oil filter.

No, it sits above the filter, or at least mine does.

There are a couple of people that make them. Depending on which one you have, it will make the difference. If the oil filter is exposed then you should not have to remove the cover, when looking at the front of the bike. If the oil filter is covered then you may need to remove it to change the filter.

Wink  Have you tried just loosening it and not taking the bolts all the way out?  It might flip forward enough to get the filter off without removing the cover...

As a machinist, I always use the correct tool for the job. The correct tool is one that is within reach, that will do the job and do no damage. Last oil change that was a pipe wrench.

I install by hand.
