I'm 2 1/2 hours north of Chicago there are alot of Valk riders in your town.
Some of them hang out on the VOA site.

I'm about 40 miles due west of Chicago and there have been efforts to get a VRCC Chapter going but it just doesn't seem to last. I know that there are a few other Chicago area Valk riders that monitor the board so I try and post any food rides that I may go on ... Starved Rock, Full Moon Cafe, Grub Steak, etc.
