I've owned as beautiful '98 for six months and am in love with it. What would be a flawless machine otherwise, it has a small dent and rash on the right crashbar. I have watched ebay for a while, no luck, the ones they have for sale are far worse off than mine.
Can a dent and rash be repaired? If so, does anyone have suggestion as to who to can do it?

Both mine were all rashed up when I got my bike... new ones aren't much, sometimes ones on eBay go for more than new!

Normally the scrape is low on the bars and not easily seen.
Get some aluminum paint in a spray can, tape off the area to make small and spray it!
It will eliminate rusting and be virtually invisible!

Both replies are good answers. I purchased a new one for around $100.00 from Hollister Honda but I think Dillion Powersports also has them. Painting it would be cheaper.

If you plan on keeping the bike for a long time it might be a good time to invest in new engine guards.
New ones will only get harder to find as time goes on so the cost today might well be worth it.
Just a thought....good luck

Thanks for all the suggestions. I ran across a link on another posting for cmsnl.com somewhere in Europe. It scares me to order from there, but I did it anyway. I'm paying $163.47 for a new one including shipping (if I caculated right).

Heh...yeah, I can testify...HDL has a good price and usually gets 'em to you quick!
I keep 'em in stock usually...like spark plugs!

I hate to be picky, but HDL does NOT have free shipping unless the order is at least $200.
Technically, I suppose the accessories site has "free shipping," but there is a $7.50 charge to handle the parts unless the order is at least $200. The OEM site charges $7.50 for "shipping" for under $200.
I have nothing bad to say about HDL, only wanted to clarify that shipping is not free for many orders.
