Parts just are not easily accessible anymore. Sad    I replaced my wheel bearings and then it dawned on me that I forgot to order dust seals.  I figured this out yesterday when my bike was torn apart... Note Picture:

I ordered my bearings from oldbikebarn.com  I must say they were far cheaper with great products.  They had a bad wrap with people not getting there orders but I didn't realize this until after I placed a 255.00 order.  No worries I must say after talking to them on the phone (after I realized I might have been taken), they assured me that my order was going out the door on monday (this was on a saturday).  But!!!   I didn't order dust seals...

So wouldn't you know it I did the leg work for the parts counter at the local honda shop and I called all of them in Kansas City, also.   Same response...  "Sorry, we don't have them in stock but we can order them."  Their price they quoted me was three times the price that I am paying from hondadirect.  I told them this and they said that they have to cover costs of expense.  What expense??  You were not sitting on the product on a shelf but your making me pay for it as if it was?   What BS!  I don't mind paying for "convenience" but this is NOT a convenience because either I pay more and wait for it to come to them and then I go get it.  Or pay 1/3 of the price and it shows up at my door.  I think that is a better convenience if it comes to having to order it.

I don't know how these shops stay in business...  For what it is worth I picked up All Balls wheal bearings and steering bearing for a fraction of the cost and had good service...  So if you ride with me I will be carrying an extra set of wheel bearings (just in case).

Note:  the headphones and card reader came in the mail same day but from newegg... lol

Funny you mention 'how do they stay in business?',
there's on Honda Powersports specially built place
50 miles from me, just recently closed down,
lack of business.
Their prices were high, service left something to be desired.
Don't know why Honda went to that expense,
just to have it close down 3 yrs later.

I'm now dealing with a Cycle Salvage place, great mechanic,
OK prices, lots 'o old parts.
