I dumped them over dropping channels years ago. Their argument was always "trying to hold rates down" I cancelled when they dropped Versus and raised my bill $5.00 the same month.

I've had both Dish and Direct (the cable options where I live aren't really options) and both are constantly changing lineups and adjusting prices.

One thing I learned last time I changed though was that when I tried to disconnect Directv they gave me all sorts of discounts so if you get a chance - call them and ask when your contract expires. Then tell them you would like to hear what discounts the will give you to keep from switching companies.

Everytime I called directv the call was always handled by an "overseas" operator. hat is until I called to cancel then all of the sudden I had some sweet sounding midwesern girl. Try to leave them and THEN you get support you can understand on the phone.  tickedoff

I also had dish network. When I had a complaint, they were to buisy to care. when I switched to comcast, and told them I no longer wanted their service , the calls started with all kinds of offers and butt kissing. When I asked why they never responded to my issues with the service, they had no answer. Funny, I said because you record all calls ( to use against you) for quality or training purposes.  Now she is offering almost anything if I do not disconnect the srevice. So I told her this conversation was also being recorded. She hung up  da prez :

We had them a few years ago. Florida is known for summer rain-that means clouds-that means no satellite reception. That means-no more dish in our house.
Seems they're all the same (dish, cable, Verizon, et al). Ever notice that a new customer gets a better deal than the one who has been loyal for a few years? What's that all about?
