I've had both Dish and Direct (the cable options where I live aren't really options) and both are constantly changing lineups and adjusting prices.
One thing I learned last time I changed though was that when I tried to disconnect Directv they gave me all sorts of discounts so if you get a chance - call them and ask when your contract expires. Then tell them you would like to hear what discounts the will give you to keep from switching companies.
Everytime I called directv the call was always handled by an "overseas" operator. hat is until I called to cancel then all of the sudden I had some sweet sounding midwesern girl. Try to leave them and THEN you get support you can understand on the phone.
