Stanley, I'll be interested in your "user review" after putting in some miles with the new alternator.

Well....ok......I guess it'll either charge or it won't?.... Cheesy....there's a one year warranty on it, but my original one is still working here 12 yrs later...it's just that I heard something "squeaking" behind the alternator cover and it's not a loose cover....I suspect it's possible the bearing may be going bad and I'd hate for it to fail and tear something else up.....

I've read that replacing one is a real PIA...that you have to hold your mouth right and say a few choice "colorful words" to get it all to line up just right??..... Cheesy Cheesy.....

OH....and I'll try to remember to UN HOOK the battery cables first..... cooldude

As a "certified,card- carrying SmartA$$"  I appreciate your response  Cheesy
I'm referring to the new one's ability to carry a full electrical load without the lights dimming etc.... cooldude

Better to be judged by 12, then carried by 6.

Sounds good to me....I'd love for Mac to show us the fast way, but Nashville is a LONG ride from here and being my luck, the old one would lock up halfway there!..... Cheesy

Britman said I could share a room with him IF Coot didn't show up.....looks like I'll be sleeping in the bushes again!!...... cooldude Cheesy Grin

I appreciate the offer Mac.....hopefully Mike and I can't get it in without me tearing something up....

I have been wanting to ride over to Nashville for a long weekend and see the sights and sites for Country music.....the Wife hates Country music, so I'd be coming alone on the bike most likely...

And didn't you perform that amazing task right in the driveway, smack dab in front of the hotels entrance?  cooldude

Yes.  I lost my virginity (as far as valk alternaters go) in public, in the rain, but I must admit it was a party atmosphere.  The alcohol involved may have contributed to the record time.

I'm gonna study the manual before I go to Steamer's house... I just talked to Frank Smoak about it, he had to do it once too...
His memory is that reaching up in there first and getting the various wires disconnected is helpful, so we'll look to do that...
