in either Wisconsin or Indiana... and I am in.

If it's in Chicago... no thank you.

I'll ride 200 miles out of my way to NOT ride thru Chicago.

Nothing personal there.  I'd avoid anyplace that is 70 miles and 2 hours to get thru.  LA, NYC, Atlanta.

They are all terrible.

I don't even LIKE riding in Indianapolis and I live here.

Depends how far you want to go.  Up north in Indiana they get together and ride around looking for the curve.  Once you get 50 miles East or West if Indy or 20 miles South, the roads get a lot better.

I'll be passing thru Chicago on my way around the lake en route to Inzane on July 22nd.  Stopping in Racine to meet a buddy, and then we all proceed to the UP for a couple days, before decending on Belle Aire on the 24th or 25th.

I'd be interested. One of the nice areas I ride around a lot is the Beverly Shores, IN area: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beverly_Shores,_Indiana. They have 4 houses from the 1933 Worlds Fair that were relocated there. It's all along the lakefront, so you can also look out on Lake Michigan. There are also some "interesting" roads there. A few miles farther you can also ride the lakefront in Michigan City. I'm in a campground in Portage, IN where we could have a meet and  greet, and if I can locate some grills we could have a picnic or something.

I can be talked into this, I am pretty much available through June. Lets kick a few ideas around and see what we can put together.  cooldude

I really have no problem ridding around Chicago ... I do it all the time. Growing up in Oak Park I learned a number of surface street routes to get around most of the traffic jams ... but I still hit a few every now and then. One of my favorite Chicago rides is Lake Shore Drive at 7:00am from the Adler Planetarium north ..... or 11:00pm on a calm moonlit night!

When I head south for Cheaha or the FCR I take I-65 through Indy. There is just way to much road work on the bypass and with all the trucks it is just easier for me to stay on I-65

I'm certainly up for this. If you want it held in South-western WI (the driftless area), I can show you all sorts of smiles!

I am interested too - all depends on working situation, but I'm in Waukesha/Brookfield Wisconsin...

Would prefer to avoid Chicago... made several trips on the Loop or the tollway too... prefer not again... but west of the city is pretty nice.....

Like Strider says,  plan some sort of ride and people will come!

Here is one that I am trying to get some valk riders to attend. about 5 of us went last fall and it was a great time, and it should only be an hour or two from you in the suburbs of Chicago. Look at the link, there are a couple thousand bikes there but not at the same time, they ride back and forth between two little hole in the wall towns an hour away from each other in the middle of nowhere with a lot of nice roads in between.

From what I have heard so far there should be about 10 of us, it would be great to have more.

After you check out the web site on the run, leave a message on the Wisconsin board and let us know if you think you can make it. (the Wisconsin board is a VRCC Board,  it can and should be used by people outside Wisconsin for ride information)

There will be more planning as we get closer to the weekend of the run.

Indy is easy for me except its 55 mph, which no one ever goes. Chi-town eh, not bad. Now Nashville Tn. never again! Did it once pulling trailer to Cheaha. Never again!

The Slimey Crud Run is a fantastic time. The roads are outstanding, the cycles are great to check out and, because there is no planned route, it's easy to ride all day and not overlap with all the other cycles in the area.

Besides the actual Run, there's good food to be had in the area! Definitely consider hitting this one in the spring.

My father, brother and I were still thinking on doing the Auburn Cord Duesenburg Cruise (ACDC) ride this june. Attendance last year was ok. Would like it to be better. We have not set a date in stone yet.

Jabba is right there is not that many good roads to ride in the NE corner of Indiana but there is some fairly good riding around here, you just have to know where to look. To those that dont know what the ride was about. We would leave my house in New Haven IN Just east of Ft Wayne. Ride to the Auburn Cord Duesenburg Museum in Auburn IN. Take the tour through the Museum. After, get some lunch and then a ride through the country side. Than back to my house for grub and tire kicking. We had a good time last year. Big and little D came over from NY. Joe and Marcia from St Louis as well as a few local riders like Fudgie and EEZZRIDER....

I will be busy in may and june with my dad moving out and my girl Twila moving in but I will make time for this.  So if this sounds like a ride you would be interested in doing let me know...

Yep, I went spring of '09. Like I said before, because there is no official route, you can ride all day and overlap with very few other cycles between the starting/ending point.

Here are some pics from '09:
Guys checking out our Valks:

A new Honda Dream. Evidently they still sell these in Japan and the owner bought it there, boxed it up, and shipped it home.

Another legendary Honda six cylinder: CBX

A '97 with only 3,000 miles on it. The owner bought it new... The 100 miles the guy rode to get to the Crud Run was probably the longest he'd taken it from home.
