I stopped playing the gasoline roulette game a few years ago. If it goes up, there's no sense in getting upset that I didn't buy it yesterday. I had a carpool friend almost blow a gasket when the prices would go up, and he would lament all day about how he should have gassed up the day before. More important things in life to worry about than gas prices!

Not my only complaint, but the most irritating is.... IF WE HAVE TO PAY $3.899 FOR DIESEL, RAISE THE CREDIT CARD LIMIT ON THE DAYUM PUMPS FROM THE CURRENT $75!!!!! I have a 34 gallon tank on the Dodge... 32 X $3.899 = $124.768. If you force me to pay more/gallon, at least make it convenient for you to skrew me. Hay Jimmyt

I always stop at the limit, then go tell the clerk... if the limit was higher, I'd have bought more.
They get ONE swipe of the credit card from me.

I saw 3.67 in FL last time home, and 3.69 in Cali last time there.

You will never save enough to pay the fines if you get popped with dyed fuel in your tank, and that stain lasts a long long time.

Found some 3.04 the other day on the way to the dentist, decided to fill up on the way back. 1 hour later when I passed again it was 3.19. Was going to Sams, to fill up, but caught it at Kroger for 3.05 just knowing that Sams would probably be higher, got there and it was 2.99. Wish I had of brought my gas cans. Am still running 2.96 Diesel in the dually, but then I have probably put about 30 miles on it in the last three months. I also hate the 75 buck limit when filling it. Prolly looking at 5+ buck gas and mebby 6 diesel by summer.

[/quote] They catch ya with dyed fuel.... they assume all the mileage on your vehicle has been on off road fuel...... sooooo. ya have a diesel truck with 100,000 miles on it..... ya PAY FOR THE TAXES ON THE WHOLE 100,000 MILES WORTH OF DIESEL...... PLUS FINES..... bad idea.... but it sure runs goos in the tractor!!!!!!!

I think it's all a bunch of crap and greed!! If you remember when it went up to $4.00 a gallon, the PRESS said a few months prior said it woud and did. Now they're saying $5.00 a gallon. Remember Katrina? They are looking for ANY exuse to raise prices. Now it's Libiya, threats, weather. yada yada yada. It has been proven we already have plenty of oil in the mid wnd western parts of the country, not to mention Alaska and the gulf and other places. We have to become independent! Yes, we need totaly electric vehicles and alternative energy, but as they build charge stations and such it will take many years to have it all in place. So in the meantime-...drill drill drill!! Let the Arabs drink their oil watch how fast prices drop!! The US, China and India are their largest consumers! So I say...Let the drilling begin! Just my $.02!!

what i am fixing to do on my diesel is put a transfer tank in the bed and and run a secondary line to the engine with a switch valve and separate filters and lift pump and keep everything hidden
then if my factory tank gets checked im still safe
i have seen the them check diesel trucks at farm sales and bust people, even if the tank is cleaned out the red diesel stain will stain filters

I believe it also stains the exhaust with a UV tracer. Might want to consider that.
