O-k i know i'm gonna get my a$$ in a sling here but-   mr. Ted Poe is right the heck on the mark. If someone hates me i aint gonna feed him clothe him shelter him and arm him. I know it sounds to simplistic but i have to watch and plan how i spend every nickel. The powers that be don't think we need a COLA for those of you that don't know-thats a cost of living adjustment. I don't want  to get to deep into that here but why would we fix sewers in eygpt arm terroists anywhere pick a country dictator and then later oh big surprise find out they can't really control him-alright to sum up-if i figure a hundred ways to save money-uncle sugar can figure a trillion ways to PISS IT AWAY-O-k i apoligize-kinda almost didn't know i was in a rant RANT OFF

These comments are very short sighted, people.  The Chinese are throwing money at every country and every dictator to pull them into their sphere of influence.  Ten times as much as we are spending.  Tying up vast oil and mineral contracts in Africa in exchange for roads.  Timber out of Indochina.  Oil out of the 'Stans... yes, the Chinese are very much in the middle of the conflicts.  Chinese are also throwing billions into South America.
 
Anyone who has every played the game of Risk knows that when it comes to global politics, you need people on your side.  It is a sh*tpot cheaper to put some foreign aid in to get a reliable ally and repel the Chinese then deal with the much more expensive consequences later... like when the Chinese squeeze the west as they have done with rare earth minerals.
 
Then again, seems like the entire Republican party is incapable of viewing the consequences of their decisions more that 15 minutes out.
