Scott, even if I changed tires I couldn't ride my 2006 V where you do.  Just thinking about it makes my knees ache. Wink

And now, to quote Monty Python, something completely different.

1980 Yamaha XS850 Midnight Special. Has not seen much of the road ever since Sigrún Valkyrie moved into the stable, but I do not seem to be able to part with her either  Cool

This, if memory serves, was taken a couple of years back on Willow City Loop near FBurg.

Cheers!

Sodbuster,  I owned TWO '82 CB900F's.   I bought the first one but the wife talked me out of riding and i sold it.  I bought the second one a year later and told her that one stays.  She lost the argument.

Both were very nice bikes. I didn't like the 85mph government mandated speedometers but went by the tach for speeds above 85.   However, for me, they were both a 24 karat cast iron bi*** to start in the winter.!

Yup .... she is a cold blooded beast but she is mine  cooldude  I've had it since '88 and plan to keep it forever. Seems like anyone who had one and sold it wish they hadn't. They are quite rare now.

Wish I could find a 1980 or 81 CB750F to play with or restore. Owned one and although I am sure I remember it as a much better bike than it was I have very fond memories of it.

Mongo.  What looks like a highway peg is really the end of the oil cooler.  I don't have highway pegs but i did take a look at the V this am, fooled me too.  If I put highway pegs on they probably would go on the engine gaurds (Givi)

Hey captsharky,
Can you give me some info on the chrome trim on top of the front fenders of the Stanard preferably  or even the VTX one might work. I'm looking for something smooth like that to replace an eagle/light on mine.
