Thatt will depend greatly on where you are at and the local laws. where i live it is a shall issue and renews are very easy as they are issued by the local sheriff

Better to be judged by 12, then carried by 6.

Depends where you are. In Ind you dont have to take a class. But we also offer a lifetime LTCH so we never have to worry about it.

I think your set as long as; Michigan Law * Pistol safety training course is not required * Applicant shall present a statement signed by the applicant certifying that he/she has: * Completed at least three (3) hours of review of the pistol safety training course and has at least 1 hour of firing range time in the 6 months immediately preceding the renewal application. ...This may help..... http://www.squidoo.com/renew_michigan_cpl

+2 It's nice to not have to keep track of when to renew your permit. It also hopefully provides a margin of safety against some future anti-gunner types should they decide we don't need to protect ourselves.

Yup, but make sure you get your lifetime, BEFORE your regular one expires, or you get to jump through hoops, as if you never had one, as well as an extra $15 ($75 instead of $60). After having 3 in a row, I let mine lapse for a month, then had to pay all fees, etc. Double that, since my wife's expired at the same time. Now, with lifetime, I'll never have to worry about it again... Indiana CCW explained - and good info for other states

well, good news. i went to the county sheriff office, showed them my expired CPL and said i'd like to renew it. $105 dollars later, finger printed and told i should have my new one in about 4 weeks. sure was a lot easier and a lot less hassle than i expected. whew, glad i didn't have to start at square one and have to take the class again.
