I'm trying to find an RV park that has rentals; either a cabin, park model or RV. SW Colorado is my preference.

I'm a budget guy and I'm looking for a 2,3 or 4 week stay starting in mid June this year.

Must have A/C and preferably own bathroom. Walking to the communal facilities is a PITA.

TIA.

Own bathroom complicates things.

Moab, UT has a good KOA with cabins, along with a couple of other RV parks. I'll be there in May (Willys Jeep gathering on the 14th) so I can do some research if you'd like. Moab is kind of a tourist Mecca (Canyonlands on one side, Arches on the other), so they have taken steps to accommodate a variety of tourist types.

Grand Junction Colorado has a lot of stuff (don't know about the "own bathroom" part), but it might be farther north than you want to be (pretty country all around it, though).

If I can think of anyplace else I'll post later...

KOA wouldn't work. The ones I've stayed in had no fridge, microwave or stove. Not good for an extended stay.

Anything else you can find out would be very helpful. Thanks.

Chalk Creek Campground has new cabins and the restroom/showers is only 100' away.  It is located in Nathrop, CO between Buena Vista and Salida which is a great location.  We camped there in our pop-up many times.  Also, Google Montrose, CO for campgrounds.  A really great area close to some of the best scenery and riding in CO.  We are planning to move there when we retire.

try around Ouray, I know there are lots of trail riding there. Me and Wayne met the guy you buy your tires from there a few years back when we spent the night there.

I know I wrote that most big RV parks have "park models" for rent (or sale), but a little research shows this is not well listed.  I found some links, but it looks like a few calls might be in order.

http://www.coloradodirectory.com/RVservices/RVServices-rent.html

http://www.foxsresort.com/park-models-for-rent.html

http://www.gocampingamerica.com/findPark.aspx?rental=park

The key words are 'Park model rentals.'

What I am seeing, at least in CO are nice little NEW cottages, which are renting for over $100 a night. What I was talking about in an earlier post were old single wides that have been on site for years.

I'm also thinking 'park model sales' listings could be for rent as well.

Thanks Jess. I'd started looking at that and those links will be useful

Whatever it is, it's better in the wind.

On a road less traveled.

Here's a web site I found. Might be useful to others.

Here are some links to lodging/camping in the Moab area:

http://www.moab.net/Lodging_Accomodations/Campgrounds_RV_Parks___Cabin_Rentals/

http://discovermoab.com/accom_other.htm

http://www.moab-utah.com/

I checked some prices for "tourist season" and everything was $100 to $150 per night. You might do better than that if you let them know you're planning a multi-week stay.

I've also heard that there are people (probably who have a "second home" in the area) who will rent their house for a week or more while they aren't using it.

If I find better information I'll pass it on.

Send me an e-mail or a pm so your request doesn't dwindle into the archives of unvisited threads, and I'll keep in touch.
