I realize that cheaper is not better. And really what matters is when you need to use it.
What I'm really looking for,  .....is those of you that have had to find out how good your Insurance really is...???

Thx........Mike

I have Progressive and they treated me great when I hit a deer in 2006.  Damage was about $5000 and they paid me to fix it myself.

Safeco has treated me extremely well.
Totaled a 98 Std-progessive (at fault ins. co) was/is absurd in their handling of the situation.

My experience with Progressive was not a pleasant one.  I was hit my one of their riders years ago.  I had to fight them every step of the way.  I was not a happy camper. They would be my last choice.
Took a long time to get the claim settled.

A guy at work has progressive and has been happy with them.

I'm sure there are horror stories about all of them.

ah... no selection for Dairyland.

They are very nice folks and I went through the website but we have a rep here in topeka,ks and the premiums you can't beat and the coverage is better than american family.  American Family was way higher and less coverage....

Plug for dairyland... call and get a quote doesn't take long at all...

not really his question....did you have a claim with them and how were they with the settlement.

not an arguement, just a clarification.  Luckily, I haven't ever had to use my insurance, but rates don't tell the whole story, service when you need it is what really counts.

Have ya tried your auto ins coverage company?

I went with them on my bikes and got a lot lower, better service than any of those you have listed.

Ya should add a "None of the Above" to your list.    When ya do, add my vote to them.

Thanks for listening.

Now back to our regular programming.

I'm sure there are horror stories about all of them.

I have Progressive on all the cars, the motorcycles and the boat.  Every claim handled well.  I've been hit on the motorcycle by a hit and run driver.  They had the bike towed in and fully repaired.  My son spun his car out in the rain and hit a median wall, almost totaling his VW.  Took it to the Progressive claim/collision center and they took care of all the repairs and returned it to us like it was just off the showroom floor.  We've had two cars with extensive hail damage ($10K on a mini-van that had to have the entire roof replaced) that Progressive settled quickly and the cars again looked like new afterwards. Just this year we had in incident where the wife was sideswiped by a guy on the highway in her mini-van. The other insurance company admitted fault but then low-balled the estimates for repairs, promising "supplemental" payments if necessary.  They were $500 under any other company on their estimate.  So we let our Progressive policy handle it.  They waived our deductible, gave us a check higher than any other estimate we had after they saw the damage and went after the other guy's insurance (subrogation).  Our car was repaired correctly and we are happy.  We will always have Progressive as our insurance.

Then there is my buddy Disco from Frisco who had to file against a Progressive policy holder.  He is no fan of Progressive as a result. Much as Popeye, filing against Progressive seems to be an unpleasant experience for a non-Progressive policy holder.

Obviously, being the claimant against a Progressive policy holder isn't a good place to be.

But, if you are shopping for a policy, then you are looking for a way to protect yourself in a possible future dog fight.  Don't you want the baddest dog (Progressive) on your side?

Progressive on everything with wheels... never made a claim (knocking on wood).

They are very efficient at taking my payment every month though... so, I guess, kudos to them.
