Once had a feller ride into camp at Sturgis Rally telling about the adventurous ride in from TX.
Brand new bike with out as much as fly crap soiling it,brand new leather from head to toe and the boots didnt have a single scuff. He should have locked his ign. switch because when I turned it on and read the digital display odometer it read 223 miles total. I loudly asked him to explain and he walked away and didnt want to talk to me all week. Saw him loading it back in the enclosed trailer behind his (at least) 30ft motor home he had parked in hill city.

on trailers too.  I think the first question they ask when they call for a room is "do you have a place for me to park the bike trailer".
And yes this is coming from someone who hauls motorsickles in the back of the RV.  Grin  Grin
But we did ride from Fl. to Paducah to Inzane a few years ago. Smiley

I have seen it all to many times at any of the bike weeks. Daytona, Myrtle Beach and Sturgis. When I rode to Sturgis from Virginia one year ( Yes, I rode my Death Horse all the way there and back ) I went to Buffalo Chips outside Sturgis. All you could see was trailers lined up in the field but everyone was going around saying how they rode all the way in. What a Bunch of Losers.  2funny 2funny I do not mean that everyone who trailers in is a Loser because everyone has there reasons but it was just funny to see all those trailers there and everyone saying I rode all the way in.

I live about 1000miles north of Daytona...and considering that I almost wrecked my jeep on the way to work this morning because of all of the ice everywhere, I hope I'd be forgiven for trailering at least part of the way, if I ever went to Bike Week.  uglystupid2

Of course coming from the snowy, cold of Michigan, it's the only way!

Met a Valk owner who had a bike shop in Rapid City (I think) just south of Sturgis last year when a couple friends and us went up after Sturgis Rally.  We were talking about my trailer hitch and he had said he wants to get a hitch, take his little truck and put it on a trailer, and haul the TRUCK to the rally!  I said I wanted pictures.  Really hope he does that.  Smiley

Naw, they park em across the street from the Motel's in a parking lot or a vacant lot, costs them like $150 for the week.

Some of them also park at their Motels, and park the tow vehicle in the street.

Here's a new take on "bike trailering".
This was taken at last years BikeWeek GoldWing/Valkyrie lunch at Duff's.

Two Triumphs towed by a Goldwing!  Neat!

Bob E. Feel free to drop your trailer here in NC any time you want to escape the frozen PA and ride to Daytona. It is usually ice free from here to there.

An image that has always stuck with me from Joe Namoth and Anne Margret in C.C. & Company--besides Ann Margret--was when Joe towed his dirt bike behind the chopper. If I ever had a dirt bike and a chopper with a high sissy bar I'd have to try that.

people don't realize with the constant freezing and thawing we get some serious pot holes that reck the heck out of a full size pick up truck with 21" wheels, wouldn't even want to think about hitting one of 'em with a cycle.  i'd trailer it too if i were ever to go.  march is way too early in the year, the snow's still covering the "reddy mixx" plant!!

I live about 3 hours south of Daytona. I have a Kendon stand-up trailer in my shop that I use when going back and forth to our vacation house in North Carolina (I have ridden the trip on the bike dozens of times but it is tough to take the dog and cats). A friend asked to borrow it today to go to Daytona! Jeez, it's about 75 degrees here right now. Some people would rather polish than ride...

While this is pretty funny, I am considering doing just that!

Every August we attend a small Honda Shadow group rally in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Every other year, a member from England comes to the rally as part of a larger visit to the US and Canada.

Last time, we provided my wife's 07 VStar 650 for him to ride during the rally and he enjoyed the opportunity to ride with the group very much.

This year (actually in 14 days), my wife will be getting her Valkyrie trike from CSC and we are selling the VStar... but we are in no hurry to move it, and if it sells right away, fine, if not fine.

If we still have it in August I was really considering loading it up on a Harbor Freight trailer and pulling it up there with my I/S! Figured I would be pushing the weight capacity a bit (505 lbs. dry), but I am still tempted at this point. Bout a 3 hour trip on all interstate highways.

Your thoughts?

For 3 hours, I would go for it.  Just be sure to try it out some first, to make sure you get the balance right.

Laser Pat and I once trailered our Valks in my toyhauler to an event in Luckenbach, Texas.  Total distance was about 60 miles...one way.  I mean, that's serious trailering!  We may hold the record for shortest distance trailered to an event. cooldude

Truth be told, our main motive was to stay in our campers for the weekend instead of getting hotel rooms.  We had a blast, too!

Here's a link to the Three Sisters ride that weekend...
