Come... Fly Big Bend!

I just thought I would throw out this one last invitation...

For 30 years I have been a hard core, frothing at the mouth,Big Bender.  Spring Break in the Big Bend is AWESOME.  This year I will be leaving Seguin at 3:30 PM on March 11th, headed for Del Rio on the first night.  I will be rising way-way early the next morning and cutting out US 90 west toward Comstock, Langtry, Dryden, Sanderson and Marathon, onward into Alpine. I may even take a dogleg trip out to Pandale on the way... just because I can!  (find that on your map, boys!)

In Alpine, I will rallying with a few other riders for a five day grand tour of the entire region... US 385 South... Stillwell Ranch, La Linda, Panter Junction, the Basin, Hwy 118, Rio Grande Village, Santa Elena, Study Butte, FM 170, Terlingua, Lajitas, Presidio, Shafter, Marfa... a dog leg out FM2810... Valentine... Lobo... stop for a picture in Van Horn for the "I've Been Everywhere" video. Sierra Blanca, FM 1111, US 180 through Guadalupe pass, hook back down to Orla and Pecos, back to Kent, the Hwy 166 loop round the Davis mountains... Fort Davis... hwy 118 through wild rose pass to Balmorrhea... and the hits just keep on coming!

I am thoroughly looking forward to coming home with my face completly sunburned... raccon-eyed by my goggles... answering all those questions from my co-workers about "What happened to you?!!"

It would be fun - it would be great - but I'm saving all my extneded kitchen passes for the GOTF and maybe, just maybe, INZANE this year.  Maybe one year, either on my triked Valk or a gOldwing (same difference).
