I’d love to see this engine on a cycle!!  Too cool for words, I wonder if there really is one out there?

Swashplate compressors and pumps have been around for quite a while, and a few attempts at building an engine are out there.  Apparently it isn't too practical.

I would think you'd run into wear issues using a flat surface to move a round surface...

Like Bobo said there are a/c compressors that do use that design. I think like compressors it would be more effective as a pump rather than a engine. The throw of the wash plate is to short to really complete combustion and get out all the power.
