I'm not a big BMW fan (even though I own an old R100GS), but the sound alone of the new K1600 has me thinking about buying one.  Check out the sound here (which I found in the comments of the review Jess from VA linked):  http://www.bmwblog.com/2011/02/25/video-review-bmw-k1600gt-first-ride/

I like the gal warning folks about baboons on the road.

We've got those down here too...... mostly in minivans on their cell phones.

I sat on one at the last big Bike Show. It feels big like the Valk.
There are a few videos on Youtube on the K1600.

The only thing that caught me negative were the saddlebags.
They open to the side. All my loose stuff would fall out
on the ground.

The Concours was just down the hall, sat it up, felt similar
in size, has AS much performance, costs a WHOLE lot less.

Well, since Honda refuses to make a 6 cylinder sport cruiser, the BMW will have to do…..

They copied the muffler from the Concours (LOL) and it looks just as bad.  The only difference is the color.  Check it out.

Agree 103%.  Had the 1400 since intro, and its been super.  Put on a Corbin and smuggler, raised bars, lowered pegs, and a few go fast goodies, and think its the best bang for the buck you can get in a sport tour.  Handling is fantastic, and its very fast.  Mine sounds wonderful, I put on an 07 ZX14 header with a set of carbon fiber Scorpion Ovals.  Looks much better than the fugly stock rocket launcher also.

This says more about me than it does the BMW, which is clearly an awesome motorcycle, but...

FWIW - - My FJR luggage opens from the side but it has liner inserts which take care of the "dumping on the ground" problem.
