Our six-week training camp at Fort Bragg, N.C., was capped by the traditional military graduation ceremony.   With all of the families gathered in the stands, our commanding general watched the formation from his podium.   After the Army band played the national anthem, a three-cannon salute to the colors boomed across the parade grounds.   The  general was due to speak next, but his remarks were delayed-----until the wailing of dozens of car alarms ended.
