Three Wisconsin congressman are calling for an end to the motorcycle only checkpoints. They are calling them intrusive, and unnecessary. (go figure)

I am including a link to the story in the Milwaukee paper, the Bill is

HOUSE RESOLUTION 904

I suggest that you contact your congressional members and have them back this bill in an attempt to put the checkpoints away before the warm weather hits.

By the way, those are three of the better representatives we have in Washington, and for those that are unfamiliar with Paul Ryan, I believe you will be soon.

Congress was side stepped on the issue of motorcycle only checkpoints.  The checkpoints are funded by a grant from NHTSA.  Many in congress have questioned the checkpoints from the beginning but have been slow to act to put a stop to them (not sure that they can unless the checkpoints are proven to be unlawful).  I have already contacted my reps in Washington but as of yet have not heard back from them.  Congress controls the funding that NHTSA receives but does not control how that money is spent.

http://www.bigbendbikersforfreedom.com/2011/03/motorcycle-checkpoints-not-about-money.html

The unfortunate reality of those who call themselves “bikers” today is,
-1- They don’t know the Constitution
-2- They don’t know History or its implications.
-3- And worst of all….. They by-and-large don’t care.
All they do is prattle banality like “…all i wanna do is ride…”
Probably a good bet that those who think they can “… stand this amount of harassment in my world…” are also those who are most likely to be a victim of a “bad judgment” accident.
