Placed and order with Direct line Parts last week.  They did not charge for shipping, but they tacked on a standard handling charge of $7.50.

Just seems like the old shell game, give you this for free, but tack on an additional charge.

Just my 2 cents.

It's been that way for along time. Back in the day anything over $100.00 was free shipping . Now it's anything over $200.00 . I've bought alot of parts from HDL in fact most everything comes from them today . I did use Viking when they was in bussiness only because they helped keep the lights on around here.

On a side note, did you ever get together with Jack and figure out what the problem was?

You still save on the sales tax too, at least for the time being. Hard for me to believe that source of revenue hasn't been tapped by now.

It seems like it won't be long before on-line (web) sales are taxed.

It will cost us all more, but it will level the playing field for the local brick and mortar stores.

So price (including shipping for web sales) will become the main factor.
