Buda,

Hang in there... I am like you pets are my family sometimes it's worse than losing a family member.  I dread that day when one of my pets have to go.  Sounds like your dog had a really good dad  Wink

BUDA, sorry for your lost. I know you are feeling pain for the vacant hole in your life.  Cry  I had my little "BUDDY" get his shots last month and all most lost him because of reactions to the shots. I was almost to the point of taking out the VET.  Evil I hope you can remember the good times.  Wink

Sorry for your loss. It is always difficult to loose a friend 2legged or 4legged.
We grow so close to our pets and they love us unconditionally.

I sure miss my friend " Mickey Dawg". 100lbs of pure Hell that would have gladly given his life to protect me and my family. Cancer took him about 8 years ago and it still draws tears when I talk about him or even just think about him.
Hang in there, it's tuff but we manage to keep moving forward.

that sux dude.

I just dropped $3250 on one of my own, and I have buried several in the last 10 years.

Seriously, the best thing is a new pup.

Yep; weird how it hurts. Just like Fordmano, I lost a pal several years ago - yet still miss him like crazy! Took him in for a sore leg - left him there stuffed with cancer. A couple of hours.
Still wishing I could hug him one more time after all these years.

Guess we aren't helping Buda with all these tails tales, essentially saying that it doesn't go away overnight. Or in years.

But - to make you feel better - what's sadder looking to start with, than a Basset Hound? The idiot (me) who drove over his own hound in the driveway. Cry

I'm sorry to hear about your best friend.  It sucks to lose someone so special that gives you pleasure every day.  I agree with Jabba on this one.  If finances dictate, a new puppy might help.  It won't be able to replace what joy you have lost with the Loco, but it will help the healing process.  Besides, its always a great thing to make a new friend. So sorry for your loose. I too have an old pup and I worry ever day when I come home if she'll be be waiting at the door for me. Sometimes she doesn't hear me and I get an uneasy feeling until I find her sleeping by the bed. She's 13yrs old and doesn't hear or see to well any more.

Sorry for your loss.
It is very difficult to lose a dog.

I lost one of mine about a year ago, she was such a special dog.
I now live with loving memories of her, and know we will be together again one day.

After some time, I got a new dog and she is special in her own way.

Unfortunately I've been in the same situation too many times. I feel your pain and sorry. I try to believe in the Rainbow Bridge when we can all be together again.

Terribly sorry for you loss.  It's been awhile since I had a dog, last one I lost to the Ex-Wife years ago, that was a kick in the gut.  My GF wanted and recently got a dog so I have her, since she can't at her place.  These animals really grow on you... and become like blood family to most.
Maybe there is a rescue animal in your future to help heal the wounds and fill the void.
