So, next week is time for our meeting, and it's due to be in the southern area.  We have historically met at Floyd's Cajun seafood in Webster.  A few of our members have scouted a new BBQ place in Dickinson.  It's a little farther from the center of town, but we are a riding club, after all, right?  The BBQ place is:
Here are the details for the BBQ:
Dickinson Bar-B-Que & Steak House
2111 FM 517 East
Dickinson, TX  77539
281-534-2500
www.dickinsonbbq.com

Who wants to go to which place?

Let me know.

OK, with limited votes, we seem to have a preference for BBQ, if for no other reason than variety.  So, we'll be there on Wednesday, yes, this Wed, the 16th, at 7:30.  See above for address.
I didn't vote, because I won't make it (again).

Catch ya'll next time...

WIzard:  Sounds good.  I was going to call them, but I'll leave it in your capable hands.

At our last meeting we met with the gentleman from Honda and he discussed a May ride for kids.  It is to support kids with brain tumors.  It just so happened that we have very close friends whose son had a brain tumor removed when he was 4 or 5 and it had impacted him until a week ago.

Today would have been his 21st birthday.  His Mom contacted my wife and asked if we would like to go to a Rice baseball game to honor Josh.  They are playing Dallas Baptist and their daughter goes to Dallas Baptist.

So, Teresa and I will not be at dinner tonight.  We will be at a baseball game.  We will be eating Snickerdoodle cookies also.  You see, when my Mom died in August of last year, Josh baked snickerdoodle cookies and brought them to us.

Sorry we will miss dinner by hopefully we will see many of you in Snook on 4/16.  Can't wait....

Oh and I am planning on making the May Ride for Kids in honor of Josh.   Anyone else going??

Thanks,
Willie

RFK is very important to the VRCC here in DFW and also in Houston.  I think you will be very happy when you see the amount of support that your friends generate in that area.  You should bring Josh's parents, too.  I think they would be pleased.

Prayers being lifted for Josh's family and friends.  He sounds like he was a very special young man.

That story.... it really brings it home.  Still wiping my eyes.

First of all, very sorry to hear about your friends son.  That's why we participate in the RFK organized rides.

We always make the Houston RFK and bring a Harley buddy of mine from work.  Last year we met 99 Diamond, Rocketman, and Sparky out there.  Probably some others, but I can't remember who.  A few VRCC from the Dallas area always come down for the Houston RFK and it is good visiting with them.  We need to talk about it and meet up somewhere before hand and ride into the parking lot together.  I can meet anywhere that is centrally located to Houston and then we can ride up to Humble together.
More to come.....

Very sorry to hear that.
Yes, we usually have a good showing from the Houston VRCC (and DFW, as well) at the Humble RFK.  Last year several of us met in the Clear Lake area and rode up together.  I am sure we will do so again.  Meetup discussions will probably start in earnest in 3 or 4 weeks.
It's good to hear of the interest.  Ronnie Lunsford (the gentleman you mentioned from last month) was asking just a week ago or so, if I knew how many we would have.  I told him I didn't have a number, but was sure we would be out in force.  I will be short a backseater, as she won't fit back there by early May, but will be there myself nonetheless.

Jimmy, if you want to start those meetup discussions tonight, do so.  We'll continue them in Katy next month.

Enjoyed the ride to and fro Jimmy. good to see everyone and enjoy good BBQ. The ride back was comfortable, gave me a chance to do more night riding, even though it is not my forte. Hope to see You at GOTF.

Wish I could have been there but I have been at coroporate meetings for the last two days and I have to finish up tomorrow. Oh well, it's a living. I guess that I am also going to miss GOTF as I won't be getting back until about 6:00 on Saturday night from Memphis. Really hate that but I guess there will be more gatherings and I am sure that I will still be a 'Fool'. I hate it when work gets in the way of my fun...

DANG! I voted for it and was drooling to go, but an extra hour at work, then a 5 minute fix/1 hr job at a relative's on the way home killed my timing...  tickedoff

But then there is always GOTF!!!  cooldude
