I took my 8 year old daughter out for a "date" last night and, not being a GoldWing rider, was shocked to see how expensive DQ treats have become. I paid $5.99 for a peanut buster parfait! I'll bet that even though the Canadian dollar has recently climbed above the US dollar, we pay significantly more than you in the US do. How much more?

Last time I checked here they were about $3.99 in MN... but that was last summer. IDK what they are now, with added fuel costs

Too cheap for DQ here. I get all the ingredients and build my own, in my home 7 times.

I'm too tight for DQ as well. McDonalds hot fudger sundae with extra fudge (top and bottom) is only $1.39 around here.
YMMV,

almost all of the dairy queens in eau claire are owned by the same guy, and for some odd reason his icecream is "watery" so i don't like 'em. but the last peanut parfait i bought was $4.50 for the large. my daughters friend works at one so we sometimes get extra fudge at no additional cost...

Will this cause increased boarder crossings to purchase cheap DQ treats?

I would like to tell you but the DQ that I stop at while traveling is old school. It is one of the older ones with two buildings with tables in between the buildings. One building is for the treats and the other one if for the cooked food. I stopped there awhile back hungering for a cheeseburger and some wonderful treats. It was a nice warm day and I was disappointed (I had forgotten) that they close down for the winter as they have no indoor dining. I will be stopping as soon as spring hits and they re open.

I don't know what a DQ Peanut Buster Parfait costs here in the NW, but I'm willing to do the research. There are several DQs within reasonable range, I would think a sampling from each would give us the best data. Redline
