Personally, I don't think electric vehicles will predominate the market till they have better performance and range that other vehicles.
I buy cages for their ability to haul me, firewood, hunting/camping gear through mud and snow to work or play.
I buy motorcycles for their ability entertain me. A slow, boring or range limited motorcycle will never grace my garage unless it's for kids.
But, a screaming fast electric touring bike with quick charge capacitor based energy cells would be a hoot and I'd buy one if it was affordable. And, I'd be fine with dumping chunks of coal in a hopper under the seat if it made it scoot.
