I just ordered a new windshield, 4" rear speakers, and a rear speaker wire harness for my "new to me" 2000 Valkyrie Interstate. Are there any tips or tricks to installing these items? Thanks for your help...

There is info around here in previous posts of how people do it, try some searching.

The install isn't hard, but does take a little time. The speakers go in very easily and you'll figure it out once you get the armrests off.

The wiring harness attaches to a connection under the sidecover. Running the wires is the trickier part. I and Alph ended up taking the inner portion of my trunk out, running the wires through it, then drilling a hole for the wires to go into the trunk lid in each side to where the speakers are.

Just make sure you get the antenna(s) out of the way if you end up taking the trunk liner out. We didn't and somebody ended up scratching the snot out of my trunk on one side!

Thanks for the reply. I did search around and found some info on a Polk rear speaker install but that had no info on where and how to run the wiring harness to the speakers. I hate to drill holes in the trunk, but if that is the only way I guess I would have to.

You don't need to drill holes in the bottom, just the next to the hinges so you can run the wires up to the speakers. This should make sense if you're looking at your trunk.

And I am pretty sure there are already holes in the bottom of the trunk  Cool
