I would suggest you check on the UK board   look on our home page under regional boards

Perhaps they could help tell you if a person is real or a scammer    A good bunch even if they type funny

Try asking them for their VRCC Membership number...

BTW... Just FYI but typing in all caps is considered to be yelling online...

Thanks Oss, I'll give that a try, I didn't realize they were regional boards. But I still believe they are scams simply because they are worded almost identical but by different ones.

I put an ad in to buy a CB, got several replies. One was for a very good price. I started an e-mail conversation with the seller, sent the money and then he said I had to send more money to an English customs broker, who worked in Nigeria. Alarm bells! End of purchase. Felt quite the fool, but I was overzealous and thinking 'Hey, its the VRCC, right?'.

The classifieds are open to all, not just VRCC members.

I e-mailed English Customs, no such procedure. I sent them the e-mail and they said they may deal with it; I never heard anything.

I contacted the classifieds monitor and they said there was nothing they could do.

Tread carefully, my friends. Any future dealings with classifieds will be by phone. Phone numbers are much easier to deal with, police wise, than e-mails.

This happens to everyone who posts on the classifieds.
The VRCC staff should be able to put restrictions on the classifieds to were you cannot see them if your not a member and you have to have been a member for at least 6 months and 12 posts to be able too. Just my .02 but hopefully Scott or Willow will address this problem.
