Ex Wisconsin senator Dave Zien was in a cycle accident and lost his left leg while being clipped by a minivan.  I knew Dave before he ever ran for elected office, he is a good person that would actually spend time with the people that elected him into office.

Some of you might remember that I posted a story on his 1,000,000 mile Harley cycle.  You would often see him on the highways riding to and from Madison.  If there wasn’t any snow on the roads, he’d be riding.

Truly a motorcycle guy.

If anyone in the Tallahassee Florida area knows more, please fill me in.

Little Googling turned this article up:

http://host.madison.com/wsj/news/local/govt-and-politics/article_068b2ab4-4e69-11e0-95c7-001cc4c002e0.html

Gotta love the media... Guy lost most of his leg, and they have to say this:

Quote
Zien, who was not wearing a helmet, appears not to have suffered any serious head injuries.

well, he was a republican, not much love for those type in the media you know......

i just watched the local 6am news, not a single mention. Angry  sure, he hasn't been in office for 5 years, but he had served the people of the area for 18 years.  doesn't that mean anything??

he was a bit of a rebel......

It really pisses me off when the stupid media, reporting a MC accident, feels that they MUST interject whether or not the rider was wearing a helmet. What freakin difference does it make? They just loooove stirrin the puddin known as controversy. Maybe it's just here in Florida, but I swear they do it every stinking time.  tickedoff

It's everywhere... and they only list what the bike was if it's a Harley. IDK, Feels like prejudice to me.

When there's a cage accident, they report if seatbelts were worn. Especially if someone was ejected from a rollover. They're probably trying to educate/remind about safety issues. I don't feel they're picking on bikers.

Dave Zien....A living legend for sure. Something about this mans past history assures me he will overcome this tragedy and continue to amaze the world of motorcycling. He is a man among men and the first to come to a veterns needs. Here is a link to his million mile Harley
